Not Myself Tonight is now the #2 video on iTunes UK.

I really hope Justice For Bionic actually happens / takes off.

Also I’m very curious now to hear the 2008 version of the album as that’s when the album was supposed to be released and when a lot of the tracks were recorded for as well. She was told to add more commercial sounding songs to the album one of those being Not Myself Tonight I wonder what the other tracks were though and what was intended to be the lead single at the time.

I have a feeling Keep Getting Better was originally on plans to lead new album / Bionic 2008-2009 before they changed plans to come up with GH!!!

She wanted GLAM as first single if I’m not mistaken. She supposed had the idea of the video, the concept and all the stuff for the song. I’ve always loved her but Bionic disappointed me so much, were things in there that made no sense (like Desnúdate) and being honest apart from NMT, WOHOO and BIONIC weren’t hit materials o memorable songs. I believe also mainly reason of the results was her image and everybody was hating her at that moment, everybody was happy seeing her failing. I’m sure that the Bionic era + Divorce supposed some kind of trauma from her and since that moment she didn’t care again about promotion, sell records, etc. It feels to me that she lost her ambition on the music industry. LOTUS wasn’t a great record either (it doesn’t feel like her) but there were hit materials that may helped her to reach some success and gain some popularity again and she didn’t give a damn.

Both Gaga and Katy had eras like Bionic where it was seen as cool to spread unkindness towards another female but Xtina just never recovered properly after Bionic :(

I listened to this whole record on my walk today, honestly needed to lie down after it :cheeseblock:

My Girls is such a bop.

Birds of Prey still gives me literal chills.

Bionic album survivor incoming next month if there’s enough interest (I’ll exclude the interludes and just have the whole songs and have I am on there just once or it’ll go on forever) but I’d host it.

I know people tend to put Xtina's failure down to Lady Gaga, but I also don't think that early confusion about Christina being iamamiwhoami teases helped - clearly it showed that people wanted something that was both sonically and visually interesting from her, especially after all those interviews about doing something futuristic and forward-thinking.

Then she came out with Not Myself Tonight. Fín.

"Glam" was actually planned as the lead single, but for whatever reason she or the label changed their minds. I do find it interesting that this & "Not Myself Tonight" have Madonna's influences with the former being a throwback to "Vogue", while the latter's music video paid homage (ripped off) "Express Yourself".

Personally I've never been keen on 'NMT', always found it very underwhelming, an awful choice for a lead single & its lacklustre chart performance proved that and don't get me started on that terrible music video, if you're gonna copy Madonna, don't do it half-assed & just all round cheap. This not only caused the album to fail, but killed her career in the process. She sadly never recovered from this & could only get hits by featuring on someone else's track.

As for 'Glam', I actually do find this the better of the two, but still not strong enough to be a lead single though, highly doubt this would have fared any better, although I think this could have had better music video potential. If this album had a stronger lead single then the follow ups 'Woohoo' & 'You Lost Me' could have been better received (Woohoo should have had a music video) with more hype if this era actually had a successful lead single. Maybe the title track 'Bionic' may have worked better who knows.
Woohoo is an absolute banger and would’ve smashed with a massive pop video. Glam as a lead single would’ve been interesting, I can’t see it having been a hit though.
They should've gone with Vanity tbh - it's probably my favourite from this era.

48 on UK iTunes as a result of the campaign.

This will probably not impact at all on the charts but still good to see it get those copies sold

Hopefully it’ll make some impact across streaming services although I’m doubtful.
