Much as you've picked my favourite two, they are all fit to sing in the final because they are all good singers, some better than others. I am wanting an Alexandra Ruth Diana final, though I don't know what I'm predicting anymore, maybe Diana Eoghan Alexandra? I think it'll be really close for the last place in the final though.

As for next week, I want Alexandra to do Britney's 'Slave 4 U' and Toni Braxton's 'Unbreak My Heart'

I agree about the song choices. Alex would be amazing. Alex is just brilliant because she can sing up tempo numbers and dance and still sound friggin awesome!

WHO does Diana sing better than? Ill possibly give you Eoghan.
Where were you last year, one act gets voted in the first half of the final, than the last 2 acts in the final stage

I think it's alternated every series so far. In series 1 and 3 there were two in the final but in series 2 and 4 there were 3. But I think this year it will be 3 again.

A complete and utter TRAVESTY!

Rachel has by far and away the best voice of any contestant this year on the X Factor bar none.

When she was in tune yes. Unfortunately this was only 50% of the time for Rachel, and that just ISN'T enough for anybody who wants to become a serious artist. Far too inconsistent.

TONIGHT

01. Ruth - Love Ain't Here Anymore

MARVELLOUS. The first time she has carried her showdown form onto the main show. MOR power ballads may be naff, but I think Ruth could still do very well as a recording artist from it (Anastacia did very well from her sprock phase a few years back). Keep this up and she will overtake Diana as my favourite.

Also, WHY has Love Ain't Here Anymore been MASSIVE before? One of TT's best.

02. Alexandra - Relight My Fire

Until recently I'd struggled to see how Alexandra was going to differentiate herself from Leona Lewis. Alex is perfectly capable of doing the big ballads, but would simply be overshadowed by the former winner. But what Alex seems to have that Leona doesn't is personality, and she could do well as an entertainer aswell as being a singer. Doing this punchy, upbeat number highlighted that well.

03. Rachel - I'm Not Leaving

Being honest, her final piece was better than JLS. But I still believe the right decision was made. Rachel was just far too prone to ballasing songs up completely, and you just can't have a star singer only getting it right 50% of the time. In a way, it was nice she went out tonight, because she left on a high note rather than one of her car-crash low ones.

I'm still disappointed she didn't throw a wobbler though, she was FAR too well-behaved and humble for my liking.

04. JLS - Beautiful Girls / Stand By Me

Cheesy certainly, and I would normally be tempted to say anybody who brings Sean Kingston back to mainstream TV should be hung, but this was good.

I think JLS' only problem right now is Louis. He seems determined to strip their individuality by giving them Westlife-style dross, and I can now see exactly what Cheryl was getting at last week. JLS aren't the strongest vocally, so give them MOR ballads, and they will become bland and sub-standard and they will then lose out. Everybody has commented on how JLS' big strength is the way they gel as a group and their likable personalities. But that only really seems to come out on the upbeat numbers. Louis should take note.

05. Diana - Patience

Still not back to her pre-laryngitis form. A bit shaky in places, and the backing singers were far too loud (although Diana's not the only who suffers from this, the X Factor producers really need to start looking into that).

06. Eoghan - Never Forget

One of Take That's better songs, and it does suit the Child Lesbian. Eoghan also had problems with the backing singers, he was completely drowned out at times.

His voice is still FAR too insubstantial the majority of the time, although the last 30 seconds of this performance was surprisingly good and powerful.

It annoys me how none of the 3 competing judges can bring themselves to criticise, presumably given his age (why not just hand him a pass to the final for being 12 and having a baby sister?). It comes to something when it falls to Eoghan's own mentor to point out Eoghan was off in places.

07. JLS - A Million Love Songs

Just bland.

08. Rachel - Rule The World

Started off SO well when she was keeping it down. Rachel's problem is that when she lets rip, 50% of the time she's great (last week), the other 50% of the time she becomes a human foghorn. This was the latter. AWFUL, and the public chose the right bottom 2 this week.

Yeah I think it's three this year because didn't they mention something about if Diana wasn't able to perform they would just have a 2 person final rather than a 3 person?

Oh and Liability before you say anything, it says IF she was unable to perform! So please save all the "I wish she was unable to perform <_<" etc... comments

American Classic "Dont Wanna Miss A Thing" for Ruth would be amazing

No its not alternate, the reason they did 3 in the final because of the new category, the first 3 series only had 3 judges and 3 groups.

The final is on the 13th Dec, single to be released 15th Dec

hanks for that! no prizes for guessing who i've downloaded :kink:

same :kink: it always sounds so great on mp3

Next week all have to perform an american classic and a britney spears one.

Looked through a list of all Spears singles and this is how i think it should go:

Alexandra: Im not a girl, not yet...

Diana: Everytime

Ruth: Hit me Baby/Love rock n' Roll

Eoghan: Lucky

JLS: Born to make you happy

Dont know half of these songs so listened to quick snippets of some.

Ruth: Hit me Baby/Love rock n' Roll

As much as that would probably suit her, I can't really see them going for a Britney cover. Then again, they did tonight and Mariah week was practically covers of Mariah covers.

As for next week, I want Alexandra to do Britney's 'Slave 4 U' and Toni Braxton's 'Unbreak My Heart'

"Slave 4 U" would be an AWFUL choice. It doesn't require much vocal ability at all, for the most part it's just a lot of "seductive" whispering. It just WOULDN'T work on a live singing contest.

Not looking forward to next week's show really.

Miley Cyrus doesn't interest me in the least. Britney is vastly over-rated.

On the subject of guests, disappointing to see Same Difference miming. Although the song is very catchy. Rhydian was AMAZING. There seems to be a lot of hate on here for him. People really need to understand that just because they may not like classical/opera, it doesn't mean the performers are BAD. Rhydian was completely spot on vocally, and it remains a complete outrage that he was beaten by the charisma-free, talent void of Leon Jackson.

For Britney week, NOTHING post-2004 as little of it is vocally challenging.

Diana - Toxic (I don't know, I just think it could WORK a la Call Me)

Alexandra - Baby One More Time

JLS - You Drive Me Crazy

Ruth - Stronger

Eoghan - Everytime

American Classics; is this as in "songs-by-Americans" (hopefully) or "Rock'n'Roll classics"? Hopefully the former...

American Classic "Dont Wanna Miss A Thing" for Ruth would be amazing

I don't know if they'd do that because Girlband performed it as their bottom 2 performance! :(

Also, WHY has Love Ain't Here Anymore been MASSIVE before? One of TT's best.

It was the 6th single from 'Everything Changes' and was blocked from No1 by Wet Wet Wet and All 4 One ending their run of four consecutive No1's.

i think JLS will do n acoustic baby one more time and if not it will be a britnry song doing acoustically,,eoghan should struggle next week but no doubt he will get a big choir with him

next week whats the bets Britney will mime???

It would be abit hard to sing Womanizer live while dancing, don't you think?

For the first time on Digitalspy... Diana is NOT the most downloaded performance :o

:puke2: J.L.S are v average they are laughable and I dont think they have ever put in a brilliant vocal.

:( has for Eoghan he has a awful voice he could win it but he would have a career similar to Leon's probably.

Poor Dannii :( Louis is such a c*nt to her, I really felt for her.

The sing off was a no brainer Rachel was brilliant.JLS sung a v safe choice.Rachel sang a show-stopper and pulled it off.

Ruth for the winner!!!!

My top 3

1. Ruth

2. Diana

3. Alexandra.

Ruth was awesome tonight!! I enjoyed Diana and Alexandra's performances as well. Wasnt surprised about the bottom 2.

Louis pissed me off tonight, again!
