Hmm, charming of sony bmg to try to force people to spend a fortune on an album for the one track. They are money grabbing idiots. Another no, 1 for Leona would have done her a lot of good in terms of profile for the future, but they are always in it for short term gain, not for the long term welfare of their artists. They earn tons more from album sales than from d/ls. I hope it backfires on them and people d/l rips from the X factor show in droves.

No, they don't care IMHO. no1 doesn't buy them sportscars. Profits do. I think this is a shrewd piece of marketing, but i can totally understand why this enrages fans. As someone said though, it worked a treat for Rihanna. When Disturbia was made NPR, i decided just to buy the album as they dropped it to £4, and i wasn't much bothered about the other 2 songs but thought it was worth it for £4. I may end up buying Spirit Deluxe cheap sometime but i'm not rushing to buy Spirit or d/l Run. If anything it's Forgive Me that's growing on me, but not being a huge fan i only heard it a couple of weeks ago.

I know i'm alone on this but i don't really get the love for Run. I mean its still a cover, no matter who sings it. I'm really shocked at all the hype for it.

Totally, this is turning into the Run Download discussion thread. It should get it's own where we could talk about its appearance on any d/l service and not just itunes and when it will add to each? Don't see Rihanna being no1 next week, she is tailing off on here. It could actually still be XF but the physicals are out for Rihanna and Killers aren't they so there is a chance for them (was Beyonce physical last week or this week btw? She is still really strong)

I'm not actually keen on Run, and think there's a certain amount of sheep mentality and emperors new clothes about it all to be honest.. A brilliant song, sung by an artist with a good voice, with a huge backing/production/echo machine!! and bigged up to ridiculous proportions! Then ensues a sort of mass hysteria. :huh: My comment regarding the record company behaviour was an observation.

That is generally the case surely. I thought exactly the same about all the hype when Will sang Hey Ya. For me his version totally ruined a brilliant song, but each to their own.

I'm not an overly huge fan of Leona's although I love some of her material and she's done nothing which I don't think is quite good, but IMO her version of Run was every bit as good as Snow Patrol and they are one of my faavourite bands. It gave me goosebumps when I heard her singing it on X-factor.
