November 29, 200816 yr We have 2 local Woolworths...and they both seem well stocked always. I see they've stopped selling Lottery tickets now since the announcement - and apparently, record companies will no longer be delivering to them (the Take That album delivery, due Monday, was half-way to the stores when it was recalled).... all chart CDs out of stock will not be re-stocked now. Bargain central right now, though - the new albums by The Verve and Oasis are both a fiver...and the remastered Sound of The Smiths is a fiver, too - pretty essential purchase, I'd say ;) Also, print this voucher off for an extra 20% and 10% off items... http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/vouch...mailVoucher.pdf
November 29, 200816 yr Well, like I say, they may have closed that one down, I aint been in the Lochee area for literally YEARS... It was in the high street just before that small road leading up to the "Stack Leisure Park" (another laughable concept and total white elephant in the long run, I mean, what the fukk is up there now apart from a Tesco and bloody Bingo Hall....? ). i'm sure the Stacks Tesco went ages ago. They are at Kingsway Retail Park, Town Centre and Riverside. I'm sure there was a Odean up there as well, but thats moved to Douglasfield behind the big Asda. I think it has closed down.
November 30, 200816 yr i'm sure the Stacks Tesco went ages ago. They are at Kingsway Retail Park, Town Centre and Riverside. I'm sure there was a Odean up there as well, but thats moved to Douglasfield behind the big Asda. I think it has closed down. I certainly knew about the Odeon moving, being a fan of films/cinema and all, but I never knew about the Tesco... So, I guess that whole retail park area is basically dead is it....? :o That's pretty shocking, but I guess not all that surprising, I mean, they basically bulldozed virtually all the Beechwood estate tenements, turning them into bungalows, so I guess that meant less people living there, less people to shop at the Stack.... And obviously you have the Cineworld near Camperdown as well (unless you're gonna tell me THAT shut down....LOL.. I really hope not, I've got an Unlimited Cineworld card that I use.... ). Guess it shows how totally out of touch I am with things happening in Dundee since moving to London six years ago though... Like I say, I dont really go out of the central area (except to the cinema..) when I'm up there to visit friends and family, virtually everyone I know lives in the central part of the city...
November 30, 200816 yr Cineworld is still open ^_^ so is the Ice Arena. Dundee has finally got itself a Morrisons up on the Forfar road opposite that big park thats up that way (i can't mind the name)
December 28, 200816 yr Clothing retailer Adams calls in the administrators.........................looks like another large chain of shops on the way out. Looking like a few more are going to go this way in the next few weeks.

December 28, 200816 yr I've heard PC World is kinda circling the drain as well..... Wouldn't be sad to see them go, ridiculous prices (my laptop was nearly £100 more than I paid in eBuyer) and their staff are by and large clueless ignoramouses who have the tech knowledge of a chimpanzee, horrendous prices and horrendous staff that know nothing about pc's just about selling warranties is a recipe for disaster All PC's and components and so on should be bought over the net

Why do you think I added the smiley...? I was p!ssing myself laughing when I heard the news....
December 29, 200816 yr To be fair, if you knew anything about pc's why the f*** would you work in a shop? It may be about something you know a lot about but shop work doesn't pay anything like as much as you can get elsewhere working with computers... Edited December 29, 200816 yr by RabbitFurCoat
December 31, 200816 yr To be fair, if you knew anything about pc's why the f*** would you work in a shop? It may be about something you know a lot about but shop work doesn't pay anything like as much as you can get elsewhere working with computers... tbf though PC World should at least give staff some product training, I think they just drag guys off the street and put them on the shop floor I was searching for a laptop recently and asked the assistant in the laptop section a very basic question about what wireless a particular laptop support, I wanted to know if it 1/10/100/1000 but I got a completely vacant look off the guy as if I was explaining the flight deck of the Space Shuttle to him as opposed to a very straightforward question that he should know about if he is selling computers
January 4, 200916 yr I don't know if this means anything, or if it's simply related to this branch in particular, but there have been plenty of rumours around the High Wycombe branch of House of Fraser pulling out after less than a year. The stuff they sell is vastly overpriced and you could get pretty similar for less than half the price at the likes of Next...
