Jono's death was so sad, I always found him the most likeable of the popular teens (Esther is my favourite overall), and how he just slipped away :( It was even more shocking because we thought he was out of the woods, being out of the bus relatively quickly and being able to save the others, and nobody really thought of internal bleeding so it was quite clever.

Absolutely outstanding week of episodes, probably the best consistent week I've ever seen in soap! Claire Cooper was definitely the star, but she always shines! I was also surprised at Sinead in the aftermath, plus I agree with Rhys and Cindy being on top of their game.

Oh wow so it was Rhys? :o

Rhys truly was a dog at the end. Claire Cooper and Steph Waring were both sensational tonight. I'm so glad Tony is giving Cindy another shot.

YAY. Slightly anti-climatic, but I'm glad he's gone! :D I'm loving Martha of late.

I think

Brendan

will be leaving in the next two months, I think his exit will have something to do with his father being introduced into the show. He also said in an interview at the inside soap awards that it will all be coming to an end.

Apparently on Digital Spy there are strong rumours that

Mitzeee will be leaving Hollyoaks, that's why they introduced Maxine, I WONT COPE

YES! I must be the only one who thinks this, judging from all of facebook and twitter, but I think he's irritating. good riddance.

It'll be weird without him. He's such a joy to watch. Emmett is massively talented but I think he might find it hard stepping out of Brendan's shadow...

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN FAB. I love how Jacqui is used under Kirkwood! FANTASTIC!
Departee for early next year:

MITZEEE. :( Carl will be back and they'll embark on a revenge plot against Walker. Sob sob sob SOB SOB!

Oaks has been insanely good this week. Just hands down the best soap. Loved the Dublin stuff. (I don't really care for John Paul but Brendan reuniting with Ste was genuinely heartwarming.) Brendan's story is even darker Seamus is on the scene. Seeing him cry like a little boy was heartbreaking.

By contrast the Maxine/Mitzeee and Carmel/Barney stuff was proper funny.

Several shots have been added to the title sequence:

Maxine, Phoebe, Sienna, Patrick, Holly, Paul Browning and John-Paul are in. Lacey and Joel are out. God knows if that means they're leaving or what. Interesting that Patrick is in there, he's the only middle aged character in there. They should add Myra and Martha. Doug still in so presumably he's coming back, God help us.

Frankly all the older characters should be in there. The likes of Myra, Jack and Frankie contribute/have contributed far more to the show than most of those shown there. The lack of Lacey and Joel (and also Jen and Liam) is strange - Bryan Kirkwood had given an interview not long after the bus crash which suggested there were going to be more cast departures to come

(and we already know Mitzeee is off, and there are plenty of Brendan rumours too)

, so either those missing are indeed out, or they're being held back to replace others in the sequence in the near future? I'd be surprised if Lacey in particular is gone, given Hollyoaks has been making much talk over the past year of building families back up, and the Kanes were at the forefront of that.
