Last week, we did great with 38 in the 40. In the combined albums we had 27 in the 30. Back in December 1979, Radio Luxembourg came up with this: 01 16 ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL PT 2 - PINK FLOYD 02 01 WALKING ON THE MOON - THE POLICE 03 09 QUE SERA MI VIDA - GIBSON BROTHERS 04 02 NO MORE TEARS-ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - DONNA SUMMER/BARBRA STRIESAND 05 19 I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU - THE TOURISTS 06 03 WHEN YOU`RE IN LOVE WITH A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN - DR HOOK 07 26 RAPPERS DELIGHT - SUGARHILL GANG 08 20 NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN - MOODY BLUES 09 04 CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE - QUEEN 10 06 CONFUSION/LAST TRAIN TO LONDON - ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA 11 15 UNION CITY BLUE - BLONDIE 12 05 COMPLEX - GARY NUMAN 13 08 ONE STEP BEYOND - MADNESS 14 07 STILL - COMMODORES 15 17 OFF THE WALL - MICHAEL JACKSON 16 10 DIAMOND SMILES - BOOMTOWN RATS 17 14 ETON RIFLES - THE JAM 18 25 MY SIMPLE HEART - THREE DEGREES 19 11 IT`S A DISCO NIGHT (ROCK DON`T STOP) - ISLEY BROTHERS 20 NE BRASS IN POCKET - PRETENDERS 21 NE WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS TIME - PAUL MCCARTNEY 22 23 SARAH - FLEETWOOD MAC 23 NE IS IT LOVE YOUR AFTER - ROSE ROYCE 24 28 LIVING ON AN ISLAND - STATUS QUO 25 18 ROCKABILLY REBEL - MATCHBOX 26 30 WORKING FOR THE YANKEE DOLLAR - SKIDS 27 13 LADIES NIGHT - KOOL AND THE GANG 28 NE I HAVE A DREAM - ABBA 29 NE SPACER - SHEILA AND B. DEVOTION 30 NE JOHN I`M ONLY DANCING AGAIN - DAVID BOWIE Radio Luxembourg got 27 in the 30 in 1979. PINK FLOYD do the business. The SUGARHILL GANG had the first "rap" record...Yes I spelt it right! Of course the first c**p record must have been EAEMON ANDREWS 1955 recording of "The Shifting Whispering Sands!" The MOODY BLUES re-issued the 67 hit "NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN" for the 2nd time..after a cover by The DICKIES earlier in 79. PAUL MCCARTNEY provided the Christmas stuff, and possibly ABBA too. The JAM provided us with "ETON RIFLES"...comically known as "Eating Trifle". The PRETENDERS scored first on Radio Luxembourg, and DAVID BOWIE put out his 1975 re-recording of "JOHN I`M ONLY DANCING". I`m sure Martin...you remember the December of 1979, and joined Europe`s Biggest Chart Show on Radio One, with the sensational TONY BLACKBURN! By the way, if there are any other fans of the earlier days of Radio One, if you listen to KCFM 99.8 in the Hull area, or on internet radio...you can join this line-up on Christmas Eve...Look at it: 6am Tony Blackburn 10am David Hamilton 2pm Adrian John, and Shaun Tilley`s Request Show 4pm Paul Burnett 8pm Adrian Juste`s Christmas Eve Comedy and Music Show
December 1, 200816 yr Britney! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Considering it's ahead of Now 71, it's sales should atleast be near 80,000 copies!
December 1, 200816 yr Author I bet this is not official, right?? That`s not the point..It`s a preview based on averages/pre-orders of today. The gang have been doing great with it lately..So, it`s a case of do you trust us?! ;)
December 1, 200816 yr Phew, am happy to see Will in top 20, and to hear his album has gone up, with all the new entries! :) Thanks Dave.
December 1, 200816 yr Author I don't see beyonce in album :o...I hope she wont be out of top 40 She`s heading that way..Remember last night she was 25 in the combined album chart.

So, she should be ok, with a whole bunch of song downloads, which will also push "Womanizer" back into the top 5.
December 1, 200816 yr Hi Dave, thanks as always Really impressed with top 5 for the Same Difference album :cheer:
December 1, 200816 yr Great retro chart, and the Pretenders were the first #1 track of 1980. Back to reality now, looks like I'm going to eat humble pie on Sunday as I predicted TT will remain at #1 for a second week. Oh well, better luck next time.
December 1, 200816 yr I was thinking the same Jack  AMAZING if they were number 4 though :o :w00t: Also I'm not very hopeful for Britney's position as much after all the reports of not many Retailers stocking ti or anything Etc... :(
December 1, 200816 yr "Along with the likes of Zavvi, WhSmiths, Tesco, Asda, and Sainsbury...minus Woolworths (who were not taking part today), let`s have a look." Woolworths don't have any new releases due to their going into administration. Our branch is a mess: they've just filled the chart walls with loads of old sale stock where the new stuff would have gone :(
