Posted December 5, 200816 yr Sugabaebs wll realise there new single "No Can Do" on 22nd December , but i have a bad feeling the single will flop. Realising it three days before Christmas , when nobody buys singles could cost them. The album has flopped badly - will this be the finale single for the Sugababes ?
December 5, 200816 yr I can see Every Heart Broken or Side Chick getting desperation releases. The decision to move away from the dazzling electropop of AYN really has cost them dearly...
December 5, 200816 yr The decision to move away from the dazzling electropop of AYN really has cost them dearly... I agree, the whole album just shouts rushed to me as well. I have no doubt they could easily come back later next year with another hit but for now they need to leave this album theres no way any other songs from this album will be a hit.
December 5, 200816 yr Yep, this is a 100% complete flop if it doesn't pick up FAST. It's a shame as this is a far better song than that 'Girls' slush. Like I said yesterday in the Sugababes forum, I really want 'Every Heart Broken' to be released, but if 'No Can Do' flops as bad as it's looking set to... nobody will care by the time a third single comes along, no matter what it is. :(
December 5, 200816 yr I miss my electropop! Elkhead you could at least spell Sugababes properly throughout -_- and mrincredible have you even heard anything off their new album? or do you just say everythings $h!t. i seriously haven't seen you praise a song yet.
December 5, 200816 yr They'll probably try for a third single but if that flops then that'll be it for this era. I just feel they rushed this album out to get those 'Christmas sales'. They were originally going to wait a year I read. Silly really. They've kinda gone like Atomic Kitten. 'Let's release any old $h!t because we're so huge we can get away with it'. I think 'No Can Do' will flop though :( Just wrong time of the year for it and it's done nothing on iTunes so far either. Doubt the rush of Christmas will help them sell tonnes of physical copies either. Low top 20 at best I think.
December 5, 200816 yr It's better then Girls, but both of them are the worse singles they have ever released. I'm a huge fan of the Babes so i'm not going to give up on them...(yet), but if they don't get their act together and start releasing some decent 'Sugababe' tunes I can see their fan base drop dramatically (although if C&S sales are to go by, they already have :( ) It's a shame because some of the tracks on Catfights are genuinely really good. Every Heart Broken screams single :) Just a shame it was rushed. Edited December 5, 200816 yr by Glyn
December 5, 200816 yr They need to take the best song off the album, employ the Freemasons to remix it, and then release that.
December 5, 200816 yr its a ok song, its no AYN, HITH, PTB... neither was Girls. Id say this will peak at #19, or even #29 and that would be it, one week or maybe to in the top 40. id also imagine that it would sell under 50,000. Girls, get back into the studio, and come back when you can produce some decent pop, and stop slating Girls Aloud in the press until you can validate having 'better songs' and 'sell more records' (quoting keisha on digital spy)
December 5, 200816 yr I love the Sugababes and have all their singles and albums APART from their latest one which from the tracks I have heard from it is awful  They need to pull this release or face having their first single miss the Top 40, It is being released at totally the wrong time of year. I really think this could be the beginning of the end for the Sugababes  I just hope they drop the whole project rather than try to keep it limping along by releasing more singles from the album...
December 5, 200816 yr I think the sugababes are in massive trouble, something drastic needs to change. In my opinion, there is room for two types of successful musicians in the industry now. 1. The big acts like leona, GA, TT, rihanna and 2. The up and coming different acts that come every year such as mika, ting tings, lady gaga, alphabeat, katy perry, saturdays and so on. The 3rd group i see as being the group of known acts that were new and different but just arent new anymore and so fall into a non descrpit category eg lemar, craig david, anastacia, mcfly and sugababes. Thats my take on it anyway. I think they will always sell a song if its really good eg AYN but i think any pop act would have gone to no1 with that song. But the general interest in the sugababes has more or less dissappeared, i mean their concert sales are proof of that. Edited December 5, 200816 yr by Robintime11
December 5, 200816 yr Their concert sales aren't proof of anything? The Change tour was a sell-out apollo tour. There's no way of knowing if they'd have sold out arenas, but they don't need to :/ Not every act does. Lily Allen's new tour is of academies for god's sake. The ticket sales argument is so out and it really narks me. But otherwise I agree, something needs to change, though more at their label than with them. Their styling does need to improve though, and they do need to make an album with a couple of obvious smashes on besides the usual high quality of album tracks.
December 5, 200816 yr ? They sold out the Overloaded arena tour. Whatever though, you've made your mind up. But as I said, it doesn't matter - some venues were so in demand that they added second dates at the Change tour. It got RAVE critical reviews and they took the show on the road at the summer festival circuit to similar applause.
December 5, 200816 yr ^^ believe me, i was at the arena tour, it didnt sell out where i was. And they added extra dates because they were playing at leisure centres, i could fill one of them and i cant even sing happy birthday.
December 5, 200816 yr i am a big sugababes fan, but i hate girls and no can do is just weak... this is the only sugababe album i havent bought, i never thought that would happen... to be honest im not over them not releasing my love is pink or never gonna dance again off change! why do they pick dull/safe singles these days... i've heard every broken heart and side chick and agree much better. Every Broken Heart in particular with a great video!!! But they are struggling, i would never buy no can do as a single and defo wont buy the album! God About You Now seems a distant memory!! do u think their label are to blame, they wanted to give them a mature (dull) sound!!! to distance themselves from other girl bands...
December 5, 200816 yr I think Top 20 is the most they can hope for, i can't see it troubling the Top 10 to be honest.
December 5, 200816 yr Luckily, according to interviews, the girls know how this album has performed badly and have acknowledged that a mixture of bad single choices, rushed release (1 year after AYN) SO i believe they'll probably take the enxt year to wirte a decent comeback, luckily due to their previous success they wont be dropped through one bad album
December 5, 200816 yr I can see this really struggling, there’s going to be the big Christmas releases like the X Factor winner, the old Christmas tracks selling bucket loads and then the ‘best of 2008’ effect where big tracks from the last year re-enter as people buy tracks for their new ipods ect. Possibly the worst time they could have chosen to release a second single from a struggling album. Just look at what's happened to the latest releases for Madonna and Will Young. They should have waited until January and hoped to sneak into the top10 when sales are generally lower! As it is I’ll say #34 and that’s generous/optimistic.
