Take That and Leona Lewis look set to retain their crowns at the top of the albums and singles charts respectively, in a week almost entirely devoid of big new releases.

Take That’s The Circus (Polydor), which last week sold some 432,000 copies to top the chart, continues to sell well, shifting 83,046 units yesterday, way ahead of nearest competitors The Killers’ Day And Age (Vertigo) and Leona Lewis’s Spirit (Syco).

Lewis’s cover of Snow Patrol’s Run also looks a dead cert to top the singles chart for a second week running, selling 24,429 units yesterday. Its nearest competitors are Britney Spears’ Womanizer (Jive) and Take That’s Greatest day (Polydor).

New releases are scant at this time of the year: the highest new entry in the albums chart looks set to be Neil Young’s Sugar Mountain – Live At Canterbury (Reprise), which should secure a top 50 placing.

On the singles chart, double A side charity single Little Drummer Boy / Peace On Earth (Warner) is set to be the highest new entry and should challenge for the top five.

It is one of a number of festive songs in the midweek charts, including Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You (Columbia), The Pogues’ Fairytale Of New York (Warner Bros) and Wham’s Last Christmas (RCA).

I think it'll be quite boring this week, except for all the xmas songs. Hope P!nk's album holds up well.
Yeah it's not going to be the most exciting week of the year. Hope Boyzone go top 10 (not that I'm a huge fan, but it's a great song, and for some reason I'm really liking them this era) Grace Jones can get top 100.
Not as interesting as last week however things to note, Boyzone and just how mega they well flop, cant see them top 10 but also a sneaking feeling they wont be top 20 either; Britney can she overcome TT and the KOL? probably not tbf, and will the album hold up or drop like a stone?
Am I being thick or has Leona's Run been removed from the iTunes top 100? According to the chart I can see, Kings Of Leon are #1 with Use Somebody while Run is nowhere to be seen.

Its true, but if you read the iTunes thread topic, it will explain it all

It's back on now..

They added the "RUN" music video to the album so removed the old deluxe version so obviously Run got removed with it..

It will regain it's place shortly :D

I have a sneaky feeling Sir Terry could swipe the #2 spot!

:)

my goodness, can't Leona's management just let the fans download her music for one week without screwing them around?

Will post when available, nothing at the moment. I wonder if we have another dodgy chart today

God I hope not!

Go Britney!! Hope she can keep hold of that Number 2 position!!

Bit upset that shes not in the Top 5 albums. I just hope shes still in the bloody Top 10!!

Ouch for Britney's album...

Got a position for P!nk's Funhouse? :kink:

NOOOOO Britney Number 11!!

Hope she can climb back into the Top 10 by Sunday. Why do people give up on her after the first week with her albums????

Also you wouldnt have a position for Alesha's single and album would you? thanks x

Edited by Scoobyh1

Great for Womanizer and Circus, but album I really hope shes still in the top 10 another week. :(

Edited by Nick F1

Bloody hell! Terry so high, Boyzone so low. My prediction is going to be way out this week!
