Posted June 13, 200619 yr http://www.musicweek.com/Images/images/Nelly_Furtado80.jpg Furtado faces battle for number one slot 13 June 2006 - 11:51:48 Nelly Furtado has another battle on her hands to snare the number one spot this weekend, with Maneater (Geffen) facing a strong challenge from Bon Jovi's Who Says You Can't Go Home. Retail reports suggest The Mercury-signed band's single, which was released physically yesterday, will jump from last week's position of 194 to within striking distance of number one. Furtado won the top spot last week after selling just 186 more copies than Sandi Thom's I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, which is set to remain in the top three this weekend. Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean's Hips Don't Lie (Epic) looks set to rise into the top five, while Sham 69 & The Special Assembly's Hurry Up England (Parlophone) is a likely Top Ten entrant. Baddiel/Skinner/The Lightning Seeds evergreen footie anthem 3 Lions is also experiencing a sharp increase in sales, but Embrace's World At Your Feet - the FA's official World Cup song, has slumped by a 50% margin week-on-week. Other new entries to the Top 40 come from Michael Jackson (Epic), Dannii Minogue (All Around The World), Armand Van Helden (Southern Fried), Solu Music feat. Kimblee (Hed Kandi), TI (Atlantic) and Sergio Mendes feat. The Black Eyed Peas (Concord/UCJ). For the second week running five new releases are set to enter the Top Ten in the album chart, courtesy of Busta Rhymes (Interscope), Dixie Chicks (Open Wide), Paul Weller (V2), Nelly Furtado (Geffen) and Keane, whose album Under The Iron Sea (Island) is a poised to enter at number one on Sunday.
