December 26, 200816 yr David Jordan #04 - Sun Goes Down #6? - Move On (dunno the title) #68 ;) David Jordan can be listed also in the 2 hit wonders thread too.
December 26, 200816 yr Coldplay: Viva La Vida #1 Lost! #54 Was 'Lost' released?! I thought it was just an album track charting?!
December 26, 200816 yr Was 'Lost' released?! I thought it was just an album track charting?! Yes, it was a download only single.
December 27, 200816 yr David Jordan #04 - Sun Goes Down #6? - Move On (dunno the title) Technically Place In My Heart is his smallest hit since it failed to chart - twice
December 27, 200816 yr Author Was 'Lost' released?! I thought it was just an album track charting?! but then, so was Viva La Vida...
January 17, 200916 yr JoJo: Too Little Too Late [#3] Anything [#24] (I think 24 is correct.) I think TLTL sold more than Leave so it would be her biggest hit.
January 17, 200916 yr Girls Aloud to be added tomorrow  That's a good point actually :P The Promise was huge and Number 10 will be their biggest flop!
January 17, 200916 yr Girls Aloud to be added tomorrow Are we talking sales-wise or position-wise? Either way thats incorrect as Sound Of The Underground still remains their biggest hit and The Loving Kind has already sold more than Whole Lotta History has altogether.
January 17, 200916 yr Actually it's not incorrect 'either way' because if it was positions then it would be very much correct. :P But I imagine it does mean sales in which case it obv isn't...
January 17, 200916 yr Author position wise as opposed to sales wise and The Promise was their most ubiquitous single really, and by far their biggest in the public eye even if it only had the 1 week at No.1...it was hugely successful and dominant at the time and had huge airplay Sound Of The Underground was their token reality winners show No.1 single
January 17, 200916 yr Author Hmmm...that does hinge on how one defines St. Trinian's Rich :kink: let's not open up that can of worms again, the GA lovers and haters will all flock in :heehee:
January 17, 200916 yr Author But The Promise isnt Girls Aloud's 'biggest' hit, so it is incorrect. sales wise it's not postition wise, it is equally their biggest hit, but I'd say was bigger in the public perception than SOTU just because of its dominance when it was released and it's high sales for the period I'd say Leona's Run will be much better remembered than A Moment Like This despite the latter having four weeks at No.1...even the artists themselves barely acknowledge their debut reality winning singles putting them as 'bonus tracks' onto their debut albums Will Young doesn't even sing Evergreen anymore  I think if we look back at GA's career in 10 years time, The Promise will be more fondly remembered than SOTU, as good as SOTU is although I'm aware that GA still sing and love SOTU, I just think that it was more of an achievement for The Promise getting to No.1 than SOTU was
January 17, 200916 yr No its not. The Promise stayed at no.1 for 1 week, SOTU for 4 weeks. You cant define The Promise as their biggest hit in anyway. It was their biggest in 5 years, but not EVER and thats what this thread says.
January 17, 200916 yr Basically TP sold 400k+ whereas SOTU has sold 600k+, TP = 1 week at no.1 whereas SOTU = 4 weeks at no.1.

It was their biggest in 5 years, but not EVER and thats what this thread says. there is a very blurry line really between peak position/sales and public regard for a song to define what is somebody's biggest hit I would regard Leave Right Now as Will Young's 'biggest hit' despite having much lower sales and weeks at No.1 than Evergreen...it is the song that he is by far best remembered for and rightfully so but if we are basing this on weeks spent at No.1 and total sales then yes, Sound Of The Underground is bigger than The Promise
