December 31, 200816 yr B)-->QUOTE(Dave B @ Dec 31 2008, 09:00 PM) 2367232[/snapback]That's the Top 50 done. More in 2009 Thanks Dave
December 31, 200816 yr Leona Lewis is the first Solo Female to have the same Album in the Top 5 of the Year on more than one occasion. 'Spirit' was 2nd in 2007, & it is 4th in 2008. The only other Females to manage it were the Spice Girls. 'Spice' was 3rd for both 1996 & 1997. Even Madonna has never managed it. thats fantastic :cheer: glad she's again at the top selling albums of the year ^_^
December 31, 200816 yr bette midler greatest hits sold very well and afte rthese few days will even outsell madonnas album overall the top 10 has great albums
January 1, 200916 yr VH1 currently counting down the official Top 40 selling albums of 2008 - they've just had Plant and Kraus at #23 and Madonna at #22 ... Girls Aloud #20, Neil Diamond #19, Ting Tings #18, Mika #17, Abba #16. Think it's sake to assume this had an early cut off. Edited January 1, 200916 yr by 6weeksatnumber7
January 1, 200916 yr Will Young will be disappointed at Rhydian pipping him. I doubt Will's not that bothered who's sold more than him Olympus, be it Rhydian or anyone else, I expect he's just happy to still be here 7 years on and getting his fourth platinum selling album.
January 2, 200916 yr It was a good year for Elbow #35 with sales of 325k for them is a massive success by their standards :)... i was pretty unsure if the would clear 150k but 325k is great !
January 3, 200916 yr I don't suppose you kept track of Sugababes' Change album? Still annoyed at GA's Tangled Up becoming a budget album, bah!
January 3, 200916 yr I don't suppose you kept track of Sugababes' Change album? Still annoyed at GA's Tangled Up becoming a budget album, bah! Hopefully Change, Overloaded and C&S will appear when this ups to a top200 :) Yeah whats the deal with TU charting on the budget chart? Its been on it last few weeks and not on main top200? I assume the dealer price was lowered to shift more albums as i suppose its sold most of what its going to unless they lower the retail price farther like with the GH (which weirdly isn't budget so is probably being sold at loss for £3? :lol:). Will its sales still count with the previous ones, and for certifications does Dave or anyone know (although it's now exempt from main chart sadly)? Thanks :)
January 3, 200916 yr 225.500 for Circus, that is more than good!It is :wub: Just sold over 2 Million WW too - Not Bad for an album released just a month ago :heart: The Script have done AMAZINGLY well! :heart: Edited January 3, 200916 yr by Jonjo
January 3, 200916 yr hahahaha Girls Aloud selling more than Oasis!!! who'd have thought it :dance: why not they are always on bloody tv,, getting massive promo from xfactor and other tv programs. Oasis sold 500k with pretty minimal promo.... even the airplay has been poor for this album. so Oasis have done very well if you ask me...
January 3, 200916 yr Well done to Girls Aloud. Can't wait to see where Sound of Girls Aloud charted in the end of year as well! And Tangled Up's total is now 450,500!!! Edited January 3, 200916 yr by Knightr634
