Whitney Houston , Lady GaGa, Kelly Clarkson, Nelly furtado and Leona...all are going to be great this year

Jazmine Sullivan definitely. She just scooped up 5 grammies and her album is even more flawless than Rihanna's milked one. There is a huge lack in her style of music at the moment, which I think will work hugely in her favour. She is really a mega talent and her live performances are just goosebumpful. Hopefully she steals the limelight from all those other overrated artists (Beyonce, Alicia Keys). Her music is true RNB at its best and with Dream Big as her first single she should be Big. I'm really hoping Bust Your Windows for the second single. And she has some brilliant outside album tracks too.

A group I'm not so fond of, Natural Born Grooves should also do something with their dance tracks which were huge in SA early last year. Also Wyclef's Touch Your Button has dance anthem potential. Aswell as the Eve/Sean Paul collaboration from 2 years ago

And god Buzzjack need to get over GA, you might as well call this a GA forum.. People posting in this thread 'GA will be big' stating the obvious? Duh theyre always going to remain big. Rather spam your support in the GA forum

5 Grammy nominations to be strictly accurate ... the problem with Jazmine is she has yet to cross over from the RnB charts in America let alone making it big in the UK. She's had two big RnB chart hits but has barely dented mainstream and sales remain poor. Can you really see her making a splash here? Not convinced with her live performances either.

Oops. Thanks for correcting. I honestly think she's more suited to the UK than the US, it's just at the moment everyone tends to ignore other RNB artists and just buy and boast about Beyonce. Beyonce is likely not to be as popular as she is now in March/April leaving a huge breakthrough gap for Jazmine. This year looks a lot less competitive chartswise than last year, the year of unexpected flops..

Who'll be big for '09? Lady GaGa? Returning albums from Robbie Williams, can Kelly Clarkson bounce back this time?

etc. etc. etc.

I hope NONE of these are true! That Lady GaGa song is just typical stateside tat, as is Kelly Clarkson and don't even get me started on that gob$h!te Williams!

Kate Nash, Lily Allen, KT Tunstall, DIDO :D

Isnt Amy Winehouse's new album out then & Sophie Ellis Bextor and the new Kylie one?

LADY GAGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A RED ONE

I thought you liked him???

And I still haven't heard this GaGa thing! I'll probably hear it and start liking it about 26 months after everyone else has!

Why is this thread now a lame-ass OMG NOT TLK FLOPPAGE111!11!1!! thread?

Anyway > Imo GaGa will be the biggest, La Roux & Little Boots etc will have minimal success and returning artists BEP and Robbie should be succesful

You don't think Little Boots will be successful? Why? o.O

I can't speak for James but I don't see her being huge either, despite her being the best of this lot I've heard of so far. I don't know much about records labels, I admit, but the biggest act 679 have had before now is the Mystery Jets which doesn't fill me with hope for Little Boots.

Hopefully that's just me being a pessimist as I really want her to be a success.

Ok so the obvious ones for me are Lily Allen and Lady Gaga

I agree that Little Boots will have some success but I can't see her becoming HUGE maybe just a Ladyhawke level of success, similarly Florence and the Machine will of course get some attention off of the back of the BRIT awards but I don't think they quite have the mass appeal to be huge. My other tips are of course Frankmusik I think he'll be big this summer and deservedly so.

Rosie and the Goldbug should have a radio hit in the next year and hopefully The Good Natured will too but mostly I'm hoping for an album to appear from LIGHTS!

Is Rosanna releasing this year?? 'Gameboy' has potential to be big!

I believe she is yet another artist with potential yet to have a record deal :(

 With the amount of hype behind them all people think both Little Boots AND Florence won't be massive? Seriously, I don't see this happening...who else is there to be big this year other than Lady GaGa?
