Last night's episode was stunning. Lacey is obviously going to win the best actress gongs for as long as she's in Eastenders.

Amazing episode, yet again! I love Pooky (Rachel Branning), mainly because I know her sister and have her autograph :heehee:

Does anyone else think Dot is going to die or something after tonights episode? :(

You may think I'm over-reacting here, but I'm tempted to say, Lacey is the best actress to have ever appeared. And, Gillian is absolutely superb also.

For anybody who says that Eastenders is awful, and much inferior to Coronation Street...watch these past few episodes, and you'll see that Eastenders is indeed superb.

I actually cried when she was being arrested, one of the best episodes I've seen in a soap in the past few years.

Wow.

Lacey and Gillian surely deserve awards for that? Brilliant acting all round. Syd is a bitch though.

I think it's a bit silly to write Syd off as heartless. She just senses that her boyfriend is still longing to be with his ex-wife deep down. Noah has been introduced to a man who he could come to think of as a dad and she's in love, of course she's going to want Stacey to stay away from them.

But yep, fantastic episode. This week has been pretty incredible (not to mention intense). Jean's shrieking tears when Stacey realised what was happening were just... heartbreaking.

As an aside, here is one story I did NOT see coming. Don't read if you don't want to know more about Tanya's disappearance off screen and Jane's desire for a sprog!

Apparently - and it's just a rumour - Tanya offers to be a surrogate mother for Ian and Jane.

That would be very, very surreal! Whilst I'm in stan mode here's the list of the ten characters to have appeared in the most episodes during 2009 so far:

93 - Ronnie

81 - Roxy

74 - Peggy

73 - Max, Denise, Stacey

72 - Janine

71 - Phil

70 - Zainab

69 - Jane

Tanya and Jack right below. Quite interesting when you consider that Roxy hasn't had a major storyline since Sean's exit and Phil hasn't had a storyline centred around him at all this year. Amira has been in 39 episodes already despite only joining in May and Syed has been in 58 despite joining in April. The recurring characters with the most appearances are Debra at 11 episodes and Bushra with 7. Shirley hasn't actually been on screen since 27th August and Dotty since 20th August (thank the lord). And a minor spoiler regarding the Vic:

In episodes filmed recently there's been tarpaulin over the windows of The Vic, suggesting a fire, and a bodybag has been spotted on a trolley outside...

Oh and ONE LAST THING and then I'll leave this thread forever I promise. Here's the first Eastenders/Children In Need trailer for 2009:

Loves it! 'Got change?' hahaha.

Fridays epsiode was brilliant, gillian and lacey were btoh outstanding and it was such a heartfelt delivery of a superb script, it is episodes like these that proves to me that eastenders is by far the best soap on the box, when they hit the nail on the head they do it in style, and no other soap would have delivered this weeks epsiodes in such a hearatfelt but hard hitting way, gillian and lacey deserve awards for the performances and once again simon ashdown delivered a brilliant script.

Fridays episode of eastenders for me would rank among some of the best episodes ever from the show over its whole history and the corrie fans can slate eastenders all they want but corrie would have never pulled of fridays episode in a amillion years.

last nights episode was brilliant, best Ive seen in ages, Lacey really is amazing!

I just rewatched Thursday and Friday - dont ask why - and still sat in tears.

This storyline has been very hard to watch personally but it's been absolutely incredible.

I have not herad one negative word about thursday and fridasy episode, everyone that has seen has been full of praise and rightly so, it was very moving and it came accross so so real, my girlfreind was in tears at the end of fridays episode.
Just seen Friday's episode i missed. Stunning performance from Stacey & Jean's acting. :D

Loving Lacey Turner's acting at the mo, she 100% deserved to win that award!!

Apparently

Darren?!

is the father of Heather's baby? and the big Christmas story line is

Archie being murdered!

:o

Kinda gutted that I heard those spoilers, I try to avoid them as I only watch the omnibus and don't like being spoiled, but I heard my mum talking about it.

Apparently

Darren?!

is the father of Heather's baby?

 Where did you read that?

 Where did you read that?

Well, as I said, I didn't read it anywhere, just overheard it. I phrased it as a question as I'm not quite sure if it's true myself. I think they filmed different outcomes for it.

I know the second bit of my post is right though.
