January 25, 200917 yr 23 Jay Sean - Tonight [D] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDJAY2P94.JPG Chart Run: 23 [1 wk] Release date: 26-1-2009 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: CDJAY2P94 Label: 2POINT9/JAYDED As the first UK Asian R&B artist to break into the mainstream, Jay Sean scored highly in the UK singles chart during 2003 and 2004 working with Rishi Rich and Juggy D, initially as the Rishi Rich Project. The accompanying debut album ME AGAINST MYSELF (2004) was a commercial and critical smash û successfully combining slick R&B, hip hop, desi beats and Bollywood samples. The album sold well in India where Jay Sean also performed in a Bollywood flick. Follow-up effort MY OWN WAY (2008) continued the theme but with production duties shared between Rishi Rich, Timbaland, Brian McKnight and The Underdogs amongst others. - HMV Video here: Chart history (Year peak title): 2003 12 Dance With You (Nachna Tere Naal) (Rishi Rich Project Feat. January 25, 200917 yr Listening to Mad after Tonight really puts the quality of the former into perspective
January 25, 200917 yr Franz Ferdinand made the top 20 after all. Good! I thought they'd miss it. Me too! I think it'll proably be next, but that's much better than I thought it would be tbh. When I first heard it I thought it was a definite top 3! :(
January 25, 200917 yr Listening to Mad after Tonight really puts the quality of the former into perspective  I love both, Tonight slightly more.
January 25, 200917 yr Author Me too! I think it'll proably be next, but that's much better than I thought it would be tbh. When I first heard it I thought it was a definite top 3! :( I think music has moved on from FF really....
January 25, 200917 yr Me too! I think it'll proably be next, but that's much better than I thought it would be tbh. When I first heard it I thought it was a definite top 3! :( I think they have really been f***ed over by illegal downloading TBH :( Disagree that music has moved on - they don't sound that different from MGMT or White Lies...

January 25, 200917 yr 20 Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RUG314CD.JPG Chart Run: 20 [1 wk] Release date: 19-1-2009 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: RUG314CD Label: DOMINO There was no shortage of new post-punk inspired outfits emerging in the early 2000's. However, Scottish band Franz Ferdinand had a slightly different take on things, bearing the marked influence of countrymen Josef K and Orange Juice as well as usual suspects like the Fall and Gang of Four. They also managed to turn those angular guitars and dance-rock rhythms into something undeniably catchy and commercial, becoming one of the most popular new groups in the world with their self-titled debut album. - HMV Video here: track listing 1. January 25, 200917 yr Everyone should down load Give Me A Call, it's an amazing debut single from the winner of Orange Unsigned Act Tommy Reilly. It's available now on itunes. Missed that this week, but watched it for a couple before that. Most of them were $h!te IMHO :(
January 25, 200917 yr Ulysses is a bit of a non-event isn't it? The chorus doesn't really do anything, go anywhere... it all seems to build up to something that doesn't happen.
January 25, 200917 yr LOL It's not massive across Europe :cheer: Its not been released in 90% of Europe yet ;)
January 25, 200917 yr This is alright, but I think all of the previous Franz Ferdinand singles are superior. Except for that 'Eleanor Put Your Boots On' disaster of course,
