6 weeks is a long gap so i can understand why we are having a spin off now.

I think the main criticism seems to be lack of time. But what's done is done and you certainly cannot take the brunt of the blame for this.

 

indeed, a lot of the people that expressed disinterest in having the spin-off after XIII did so because they thought that it would be in place of a contest, but instead this spin-off is to be a stop gap, and surely having a No.10's one where most of the songs are known to most of the people will be a far easier spin-off to get done in such a short space of time than a foreign one...it's hard enough getting your head round 1 or 2 foreign songs if you're not used to them, let alone 40 of them...in a week!

 

I completely agree that it should have been left open long enough for everyone to have a say, and this is where my main apology goes to, next time it will be open 24 hours no matter how much it pleases or displeases everyone else...

Oh don't worry, Rich. What is done is done, and we don't all think this is a bad idea! Chartstats can be used for those outside the UK, it helped me enough and I know loads of chart positions already.

 

I think that next time we have a spin off, it is kept open for longer to allow everyone to contribute (foreign language would be a great spin off imho).

Oh, and I didn't pick Coldplay (despite having 3 brilliant songs that peaked at 1#0) as they are not as well liked here as they could be.....

yes, that's why i was objecting. i wanted XIV out of the way mainly as i had that planned :heehee:

 

XV was always going to be a search or at least a battle of a couple of songs on my iTunes, but after XII and XIII i'm going back to the drawing board.

 

Foreign songs is going to be a hard one. 40 songs not in english will be a shock to those of us like me who don't listen to much that isn't foreign.

It's so much better than Crazy, imo. I'm just not really sure it would do well with all the pop entries, there was a chipmunk version of Smiley Faces on youtube ughh i so should've used it. But Gnarls Barkley is really a mix of everything pop, dance, rnb and alternative so who knows. .
