I'm very very very disappointed that she has signed to Simon Cowell's former record company. As I expect her to end up releasing 2nd rate Natalie Imbruglia style material.

 

She should have taken Aimee Duffy's advice and disappeared for a few years go off to University and carry on writing interesting tunes like the couple that appeared on t'net, as she showed potential at being a bona fide artist, as she possessed a unique sounding voice.

 

But now I fear a Rosie Ribbons' Mark 2 career car crash.

She's rubbish, I was thinking about it the other night.

 

Who is she going to appeal to? In the X-Factor they tried to point across a sort of Indie/Cool-kid/teenager appeal look, yet she hasn't got a voice good/big enough to be backed by a band. She hasn't got anything current about her that would fit her into the electropop scene. The only thing I can see her doing is ballads (like Dido).

She's just a rah from Blackburn (sort of a contradiction in terms). I bet it's going to be Corrine Bailey Rae and Dido put in mixing pot.

Yes I agree she should go away for a few years and -

 

1) Get some vocal training

2) Practice her songwriting

3) Learn guitar/piano (if she hasn't already)

 

She just isn't strong enough vocally at the moment. That's OK if you are a songwriter in a Lily Allen way, but not if you're singing other people's songs.

 

Her image is good but fairly one dimensional. I mean can you imagine going to one of her concerts? Staring at the camera waving your hands around a bit isn't enough in my opinion. She's just about OK in small doses.

She was nothing special vocally in X Factor, doesn't bring anything new to the table

 

Yeah the X Factor sheep will lap it up for a few weeks and it will probably make the Top 5 of the chart then after a couple of months it will be in the £5.99 bargain bucket
