Britney deserves to flop with Circus. I know I always harp on but it really is a rubbish, anticlimactic song with a poorly-filmed video and I think the fact that even in their current Britney-for-president mood the public haven't propelled it to proper hit status says everything. Somehow it's done/doing well in the US though. I maintain that If U Seek Amy should've been second, or a longer version of Shattered Glass. A sort of radio mix with an additional verse...

 

Keep in mind that this song was a major part of album promo with For The Record and it has already spent 11 weeks in the charts selling over 88k already hitting #13 two weeks ago, not to mention It has definitely kept the album stay afloat in the UK market. It's already close to platinum status and has been her fastest selling album since OIDIA. Was that all of the back of Womanizer? Nah, don't think so.

 

Circus was also a great single to release to get people hyped up for her tour, and considering all venues are up to 95% sold out with it still being 2 weeks+ before the first show, it has done it's job.

 

Not to mention it has been massive for her in the US (1.4+ million downloads sold and one of her biggest radio hits) and alot of other markets. It was a great second single choice, keep in mind that just because you don't like a song, it doesn't mean that alot of other people won't like it.

Yeah, I still wouldn't consider this anywhere near a flop for her either. It's sold 88k and the official release is only this week. The promo just started really early to help the album during its release and it's sold pretty consistent since then in most places.

 

But saying that, I think it just fell two more places on iTunes.

Err... I should've not changed my prediction for the Rudenko song (or just slightly lower). :(
