February 19, 200916 yr  No it isn't. Decades go from 0 to 9. 2000 - 2009. They do but they're meant to be from xx01-xx10 because the first AD year was "1AD", the 10th year was 10AD, not 9AD. We celebrated the milleniums one year early .
February 19, 200916 yr Author no because we were in the first year of the millennium in 2000. It's like I'm 17 years old but I'm in my 18th year of life. you need to look at it like this, 1st Jan 2000 - 31st Dec 2000 = 1st Year or 1st Jan 0000 - 31st Dec 0000 = 1st Year of that millennium. February 26, 200916 yr You know that Andy at Haven (the person who you copied this off) is also updating this as always?
February 26, 200916 yr Kylie and Shaggy are the only 2 acts in the top 10 who arent on the back of some novelty venture of a reality show so fair play to them although they will prob be eventually pushed out by more reality show winners
February 26, 200916 yr Kylie and Shaggy are the only 2 acts in the top 10 who arent on the back of some novelty venture of a reality show so fair play to them although they will prob be eventually pushed out by more reality show winners Well, there is only this year left so they are probably safe in the top 10
February 26, 200916 yr no because we were in the first year of the millennium in 2000. It's like I'm 17 years old but I'm in my 18th year of life. But you don't say that you're 18, do you? 1st Jan 0000 - 31st Dec 0000 = 1st Year of that millennium. The thing is, we use the Gregorian calendar, and that doesn't have a Year Zero: it went from 1BC straight to AD1. (Although how they when to do that is unknown.)
February 28, 200916 yr on the debate of where does the year 2000 fit in, think of it this way - if i was to say 'the eighties' people would think 1980-1989 right? not 1981-1990, because 1990 would indicate the start of the 90's (having a 9 there instead of an 8) Therefore i would say the decade is 2000-2009
February 28, 200916 yr just to confuse things further / add to the argument, 2000 was the end of the 20th Century (when you think about it it is obvious, a century is 100 so 20 centuries is 2000), 2001 being the start of the 21st century which will end in the year 2100. We did celebrate the millennium a year early but it was all overrated and expensive anyway, so who cares?! A decade is simply a period of 10 years so the 80s are 1980 to 1989, the 90s are 1990 to 1999 and the noughties are 2000 to 2009. There is nothing that says a decade is a period of time that ends in an 0 (ie this decade doesn't run 2001 to 2010). So this decade began in 2000 which was still in the 20th century
March 10, 200916 yr Thanks for the update.. do we know for sure that Alexandra has outsold Shane and Kylie to become a) the biggest selling X Factor single of all and B) the best selling female vocal song of the decade? Because the figure for Alexandra looks more accurate than the seeming estimates of the Kylie and Shayne figures.. if that makes sense. I'm sure this means she definitely will take both these crowns soon if she hasn't already, just wondered if it's confirmed!
March 10, 200916 yr Thanks for this great thread Small correction. According to the OZAP report: Lady Gaga - Just Dance 501,146
