April 2, 200916 yr That's a bit of a shocker. I don't get why these announcer's don't like being shouted at by their boss. Doesn't that happen in a lot of high pressured jobs? It certainly happens wherever I've worked. That's the apparent reason he didn't want to renew his contract. Anyway, I'm hoping JBL resume's his position as commentator when he retires. He was such a breath of fresh air. Mania is like, this Sunday. Possible spoiler, and it's pretty damn funny... LOL. Talk about give the outcome of a major match away or what? It was pretty obvious anyway. Predictions anyone? In J.R's blog, he said he thinks Edge v. Cena v. Big Show will be the final match, as Cena's their top guy and all. That'll ONLY happen if Cena's winning. The ONLY heel going over in the main event will be Orton (if he wins the belt). HHH v. Orton should go on last even if it means a heel winning to close the show. I'm hoping Trips gets booed out of the building, but I doubt that'll happen. Orton should have a legion of fans, though. I can't believe Swagger might not actually defend the ECW Title. Vinnie Mac and co. are high on Swag, and don't want to expose him on a big stage like Wrestlemania. Well, that's a load of crap. They just can't exclude the ECW Title from the show. I know it's not a major belt, but come on. I'm hoping Bourne wins a Battle Royal before the show or something, because if I'm paying to see Mania, I'm going to want to see Evan Bourne.I just posted this (Well the spoiler) on a Facebook group and they made a good point... Yesterday was "April Fools Day". But that too me means that HBK will now win, if it was an April Fools... :(
April 2, 200916 yr Author I just posted this (Well the spoiler) on a Facebook group and they made a good point... Yesterday was "April Fools Day". But that too me means that HBK will now win, if it was an April Fools... :( LOL, I just viewed the T-shirt and read it was an April Fools joke aswell. HBK is NOT winning. Trust me. Anyway, my predictions: HHH v. Orton - Orton needs to win here. He was on a role, then WWE brought it to a major hault, and now he's back on track. This would kill him if he can't beat Trips at Mania. Everyone else has in the last 5 years or so. Edge v. Cena v. Big Show - I want Cena to win. It makes sense, too. Edge is supposedly taking more time off after Mania through May, so I expect him to lose. Undertaker v. Shawn Michaels - No way is Taker's streak ending this year. Money in the Bank - MVP maybe? I'm not sure. This one is open. Chris Jericho v. Legends - Jericho should win, but with Rourke and Flair's interference it could cost him the match. Jeff Hardy v. Matt Hardy - Extreme Rules, and why?? They've already got MITB, it's a joke that WWE are giving this match away in Extreme Rules. Talk about kill a feud before it's begun... anyway, Matt needs to win this if the feud is to continue. Morrison & Miz v. Carliot & Primo - Morrison & Miz for the win. WWE like the team, and have always been down on Carlito. JBL v. Mysterio - I think JBL will win. Mysterio won on RAW, so I doubt he'll win at Mania. JBL's set to retire soon, so he could leave retire as champion. Divas Battle Royal - Like someone else said, it should be Maryse, and I know Vince is high on her, but it'll likely be a past Diva.
April 2, 200916 yr I was struggling with Jericho vs Legends. But you have now made me realise it won't be Jericho LOL :( A Flair/Rourke interference though is the only way the Legends win though... :drama: I'm now torn on this one too! :( Jericho is my favourite wrestler at the moment, but I can't say I'm looking forward to this match really. It'd be quality if loads more legends randomly ran down and started attacking Jericho and then loads of current heels came out and supported Jericho. Well I can dream  Why isn't there an ECW title match  It should be Swagger Vs Bourne :( That would be a great match to see, but I feel they'd have to sacrifice Evan Bourne's return to continue making Jack Swagger look like a top superstar. I think it's better to keep building Bourne up again so he can naturally challenge Swagger in a couple of months, when Swagger has held the title for a bit longer. I'm guessing both will stay on ECW this year in the draft, who knows :o
April 5, 200916 yr Author I'm excited, even if it is the most uninspired Wrestlemania card of recent times. I just have a bad feeling about HHH v. Orton going 45 mins because you know, H thinks being involved in a long (even though BORING) match means it's a classic. ;) There are the order of events (always subject to change) as reported by Meltzer: Nicole Scherzinger sings America the Beautiful JBL vs. Rey Mysterio for IC title Money in the Bank ladder match Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat & Roddy Piper & Jimmy Snuka. It is now a gauntlet match and not a handicap match. Ric Flair and Mickey Rourke are billed at ringside John Morrison & The Miz vs. Carlito & Primo Colon for the tag title unification Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy Extreme rules match Kid Rock short concert 25 Divas Battle Royal. Santino Marella and Mae Young are listed as the final two participants that have yet to be made public to this point Edge vs. John Cena vs. Big Show for the World title Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker HHH vs. Randy Orton for WWE title with the title changing hands if HHH uses the sledge hammer Seems weird. Normally they'll have the Divas match go on second to last to give the crowd a break. If Trips and Orton do work 30 mins+ man that crowd are going to be dead.
April 5, 200916 yr Author Apparently Morrison & Miz v. Carlito & Primo will not air. It'll be an extra on the Mania DVD. That's a serious WTF moment two hours before the event. The tag division means nothing in WWE, and I get that, but it was one of the matches I was actually anticipating. I don't know if it's official though. It's not been confirmed on WWE.com (as of yet), so I'm hoping the source is wrong.
April 5, 200916 yr I do hope the source is wrong! :( It's one of the matches I was also looking forward too! <_< It'll be the 2nd time in 3 wrestlemania's where they've re-scheduled Carlito's match to not being shown on TV! He almost quit WWE because they moved his match with Flair! I won't be surprised if Carlito walks (If they lose the Tag belts)
April 6, 200916 yr Undertaker vs HBK match was SENSATIONAL! SERIOUSLY! Quite possibly the best Undertaker, wrestlemania match! Aaaah Words cannot describe!
April 6, 200916 yr Author Yeah, Taker v. HBK was really strong. It saved the show from bombing. HHH v. Orton was just pure $h!te. I'm glad the crowd were dead, as maybe it'll teach WWE a lesson that a stale feud should not main event Wrestlemania (even if it's had a few hot angles beforehand). I can't believe Orton didn't go over. Terrible mistake by WWE. They're really ruining his character. What an anti-climax to a medicore show. MITB was better than I was anciticipating, though. So yeah, worst Mania in a long time. But that was expected. That's what happens when you have a card thrown together in the last 1-2 months. Planning needs to happen for this show. I'm expecting a much lower buyrate than the past few Manias.
April 6, 200916 yr Did the tag match air at all or did it go as it was changed too. I'm secretly typing without looking at any results however i've seen Cena is champ but thats it
April 6, 200916 yr Author Tag match didn't air. No ECW Title match either. What a joke. You need to see Taker v. Michaels. It's like the most gripping match in a LONG time. It's the ONLY time I thought HBK *might* win this. HHH v. Orton was just boring, exactly like their other matches (all expect the LMS at No Mercy 07). Totally worthless. Cena's entrance was cool, and the match was OK. MITB was really strong with some great spots. Wayy better than anyone thought it was going to be. Hardy v. Hardy was actually really fun. A nice heated garbage match, and Jeff did some crazy things. The ending was very creative. Jericho v. Legends. This was pretty funny to watch, but Steamboat was actually kind of good (still!). The Rourke thing was fair, but his punch looked weak as anything. The crowd loved it, though. Divas Battle Royal was just lame, as predicted. No Trish which just took the credability down. JBL v. Rey. Waste of time. I get the angle, but it was ridiculous. There were some good points, but when comparing this to past Wrestlemania's, it stinks. The only real thing worth seeing is Taker v. Michaels. Their facial expressions were priceless. The crowd heat was fun too.
April 6, 200916 yr Triple H vs Randy Orton - BOOOORRRRRING! Some great build-up, involving the McMahons and Orton had hardly ANY offence! WTF?? REALLY disappointing overall -_- 4/10 Edge vs Cena vs Show - MEH. Wasn't interested in this match from the word go. The outcome was always obvious though. Wasn't TOO drastic, but there have been better. 6/10 MITB - Some good spots. Worst of the MITB's though. But like AAC said, better than expected, especially with more "Big" guys being in it... But a couple of Botched jobs, but they didn't matter... 8/10 'taker vs HBK - As I said above, AMAZING! Kicking out of Finisher's, some pure "NO FUKING WAY" moments, I also thought 'taker was LEGITAMTELY injured after that Suicide dive... BRILLIANT! 11/10 JBL vs Rey - Nobody was interested in this since it was announced, so I'm glad it lasted 20 seconds. PLUS JBL lretiring is ALWAYS a bonus! Not going to rate it though as it wasn't really a match LOL Oh did you guy's here what J.R. said about Rey, when King said something about "a tribute to Heath" then J.R. said something like "But Rey's career is alive and kicking" or something like that :o N/A Diva's Battle Royal - I am a fan of the diva's, but this was rubbish. They should have had Victoria vs Beth more :( They had a BIT of interaction but nothing happened :( LOL at the end though! Just for that alone, I am marking this quite high :P 6/10 Jericho vs Legends - Piper and Snuka weren't as good as they could have been (I felt) but Steamboat was on FIRE!! Seriously, I would have preferred just Jericho vs Steamboat. Match was better than anticipated though! 7/10 Matt vs Jeff - I REALLY loved this match. (But perhaps I'm being biased :P) It was tonnes better than I thought it would be, Matt's new attire was good too. The ending was AMAZING! I LOVED IT! 9/10 Overall: 6/10 - For a Wrestlemania, it was $h!t. But when it was good, it was REALLY good!
April 6, 200916 yr Author You know, it's kind of embarrassing when a guy like Steamboat is better and more fluid than half the guys on the roster. I was literally jumping out of my seat when he got going. And the last time he wrestled was something crazy like 1994. I'm still baffled by HHH v. Orton. I'm sure even Vince (while watching the ME) was thinking "this was a baddddd idea". It was so moronic. Now, if it had been Cena v. Orton, the crowd would've been on fire and it would've been less stale than the same BORING HHH v. Orton match. And to top it off, HHH had to have his shining moment at Mania. You know, he's never had one.... ;) When are WWE going to realise H isn't going to be a Taker, Austin, Rock, Hogan, HBK etc. Cena's the only one that's coming close, while Orton could be if he were booked right. They're just in denial. They just can't defend his reign and performances. He'll go down as one of the greats, because thats how WWE will promote him. He's just the most stale main eventer in WWE history, and I think lack of progression is what's slowed the business down. OK, so the Orton rivalry was well built, but how many times have we seen HHH go nuts with a sledgehammer? Therein lies the problem... Edited April 6, 200916 yr by AAC
April 6, 200916 yr http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1267/undertakerdies.gif I THOUGHT HE BROKE HIS NECK AFTER THAT!
April 6, 200916 yr Triple H vs Randy Orton - I have to be honest, I missed most of this match due to messing around with my mate, jumping off the settee and kicking a stool into his ribs among other things LOL. I honestly thought Orton was gonna pull it off, but alas it wasn't to be. Edge vs Cena vs Show - Not the best match ever, and then a predictable ending aswell. Yey. Edge will probably win it back in a month anyway, in true Edge style  MITB - I liked this match a lot, bit disappointed with the result though tbh, would have preferred a Kane/Christian/Shelton or MVP win. Undertaker vs HBK - Great match, honestly thought HBK was gonna win it for a couple of minutes after kicking out of the first tombstone, before slowly realising he actually wouldn't  JBL vs Rey - I'm glad Rey won the belt tbh, after his performance in the Chamber at No Way Out ^_^ Diva's Battle Royal - Just LOL. Let's bring back some favourite divas from the past and then proceed to not show them at all  I only noticed Molly Holly, and that was because she was wearing the light blue of the Hollys. Maryse should have last longer. Jericho vs Legends - The Jericho/Steamboat bit at the end was very good I have to say, but I pray Jericho gets a run at either of the main belts now, maybe a move to SD. Matt vs Jeff - Matt winning was the best thing for this tbh, I dunno why but I feel it gives the feud more substance to continue. Don't think it'll help Matt in the long run though, he'll still be behind Jeff in the pecking order. Overall: 6/10 Not bad, the 2 main title matches weren't the greatest though. Here's hoping Jericho is in one of the title matches next year :P
April 15, 200916 yr Wrestlemania was actually really good. My views and Rates MITB - Well after seeing that many of the moves didn't work actually showed it must have been real. Really was interesting though and Punk made history. How in the hell did anyone think he'd do it again :o Legends/Y2J - Disappointed with result although jericho is a great wrestler. Steamboat was on fire as well amazing parts from him in the match. DIVAS - Was completely out of place. It was so confusing to see who's who and them coming out through Kid Rocks performance shouldn't have happened they should have all been introduced i thought. However Santina was f***ing hilarious :w00t: I.C. Title - LMAO at JBL being pinned in 21 seconds and hooray to JBL quiting. Well done Rey :D World Title - Cena's entrance was very good and thought the ending was possibily one of the best of the night. I may be the only one to say this but i like Cena, he's one of my faves wrestlers, Now....... THE CHAMP IS HERE! WWE Title - Should not have ended the ppv. Not much happening plus no going through tables :( Hardyz - Although it was the wrong result for me, it was an epic battle and these two definently showed Extreme and that its personal :D Taker/HBK - Well if not one of the best but The best Wrestlemania match i've ever witnessed. Utterly amazing. Both men really proved that they are Legends. It was just unbelievable and HBK kicked out of 2 chokeslams, Last Rida & the first tombstone was sensationally amazing. :D Overall Great Wrestlemania but not the best as a whole Edited April 15, 200916 yr by Blazing Rob
April 20, 200916 yr Finally got round to watching the Legends match (only one that interested me) and it wasn't bad at all. Snuka is now 65 so you really can't fault him for barely doing anything. Hot Rod was back to his old brawling best and Steamboat was amazingly agile - I'm not surprised he was given the lion's share of the ring action too since he'd just been inducted into the hall of fame while the other two had been in there for a while.
April 20, 200916 yr I only didn't like HHH vs Orton, Cena/Edge/Big Show (just a bit) and Divas match. The rest were at least decent. I'll say 7/10 though for not meeting the expectations as a main event. :(
