With XIV drawing to a close, attention has focused on where to go from Saint Etienne for the next contest, with Erik Hassle's Hurtful currently the hot favourite to take the Kopeček ticket to April's contest, the hosts of which to be determined tomorrow night. Trashe Svantselius, the head of the internal selection committee for Kopečka, Internečika Selčara Comitar Bušjacke Kopeček (ISCBK), has announced that XV will feature a shake-up of the selection method for future contests in the wake of results such as those of XI and XIII, where Kopečka failed to reach the top half of the scoreboard. Currently, Kopečka have used their quota of two bottom-half finishes for every ten contests already with these results, however the President of Kopečka, Čermet Karasol, who sets the budget for the BJSC (which currently accounts for 75% of the country's culture budget), has given special dispensation for a third possible flop in the next six contests considering the amount of the budget that was spent on hosting the contest in XIII, which some pundits have claimed led to a sub-par entrant for the nation; and also due to the nation's continued record of being the only country to qualify for every single final to date. Sr. Svantselius will doubtlessly hope that Erik bucks the perceived anti-male trend within the contest, should he win the revamped national selection this month.

After the disaster that was XIV, which nearly culminated in a coup d'etat which was thankfully repelled, Trashe Svantselius, head of the ISCBK (who has been implicated as being a figurehead behind the coup attempt, but as yet there is little evidence to substantiate this claim) has been tasked with President Cermet Karasol the aim of achieving a top ten result in Klurren, in order to bring to an end an awful run for the nation punctuated by their first win; without which Kopečka has had three flops in a row. In order to achieve this, Svantselius' budget for the BJSC has been doubled and he has announced his intention to search for the hottest unknown talents in the world, with names such as Erik Hassle, YENN, Rochelle, Mynx, Superjupiter, Antigone and Gathania announced as being in the mix. Erik Hassle is currently the hot favourite amongst the bookies to take the Kopeček ticket to Rontvia with 'Hurtful' on odds of 2/1 at Ceknet!. Hurtful débuted in the Kopeček charts at #42 this week, below Pixie with 'Here We Go Again', the rumoured Rontvian entry, which débuted at #37.

The two contenders for the Kopeček ticket to Klurren have been announced as being ex-Swedish Idol contestant Gathania with 'Blame It On You', and fellow Swede Erik Hassle with 'Hurtful'. Sr. Svantselius today sent an open letter to the heads of all delegations sent to XIV, and the heads of the BJSC committees of newcoming countries to XV, announcing that all opinions on which potential entry was preferred were welcome. Erik Hassle is currently the favourite at leading Kopeček bookmakers Čekbet! on odds of 5/2, however Gathania is currently the favourite in neighbouring Bhangra, with leading Bhangrese bookmakers LadBhang offering odds of 9/4 on her.

Erik Hassle is brilliant! Gathania is incredibly safe though and may actually give you a better result...it's up to you of course!

Hurtful is a fantastic song. There was nothing else like Uh Huh Her in the contest, so I think you may have an advantage picking something less familiar sonunding... IMHO Gathania isn't as good as September or Velvet... I think in the long run I would more likely vote Erik... let's face it they're both Swedes (I think!)

I prefer the Erik Hassel track, Ty. Gathania is a tad on the generic dance side (although it could well be a huge grower!)

'Hurtful' is awful. I can honestly say it's the worst of your entries thus far. :(
