March 19, 200916 yr I have 'What Else Is There' (thin white duke remix) on my pc and absolutely love that, but thats all I know of them, I need to listen to their other stuff.
March 19, 200916 yr Future #21 smash alert! Great song - every bit as amazing as both "What Else Is There" and "Dream On".
March 19, 200916 yr I have ordered Junior :cheer: can't wait, hope everything's as good as this song!!!
March 19, 200916 yr Only chosen because it's bloody Robyn. The song sucks. There are some really good songs on the album - 'This Must Be It', 'Miss It So Much', 'Its What I Want' - but this isn't one. The key is all OVER the shop!
March 19, 200916 yr Amazing. Junior is alright. Royksopp have never been much of an album band. Couple of really nice tracks, then some duds. This is easily the What Else Is There? of Junior. Pitchfork reviewed this. What they had to sayzzz: "Fitter, happier-- more productive, at least?-- sure, but anyone who leaves Robyn waiting by the phone every night is hardly OK. Singing with chilled-out Norwegian duo Röyksopp, Sweden's pop heroine flips the computer script on some of the cybernetic music Pitchfork's Tom Ewing discussed in his latest column. While pop icons keep turning into robots, this bold-voiced blonde is "in love with" one, in a neat metaphorical nod to Norway's own Margaret Berger. It's making Robyn mental-- and us crazy lucky. Though first Junior single "Happy Up Here" didn't leave me totally gaga, this second leak from Röyksopp's long-awaited third album hurts with every electronic heartbeat, including the ones that cause people to dance spontaneously in front of laptops. "The Girl and the Robot" stretches Röyksopp's trebly-snared maximalism to its triumphant "Blue Monday" point. Which means not just galloping Eurodisco bass, squiggly synth gloom, and wounded-lover reproach, but also choral whooshes and an aching symphonic close. Unlike Robyn's previous robo-beau, the cute little Wall-E or R2D2 of "Robotboy", our current love object is a workaholic who gives lame, vocoder-tinged justifications. Robyn falls asleep watching MTV, but the music they play-- music on MTV, yes, we're in sci-fi territory here-- says nothing to her about her life, probably because they don't play Annie's similar-sounding "Songs Remind Me of You". That reminds me: No gold star for robot boy. Give Röyksopp and Robyn points. (A.I., phone home.) 8/10"
March 20, 200916 yr I have ordered Junior :cheer: can't wait, hope everything's as good as this song!!! You can hear the whole album now on Spotify! Love this.
March 21, 200916 yr This is really quite fantastisch  And would've been had it been anyone else Jark, so tisn't just the Robyn factor :smoke:
March 22, 200916 yr I just heard this song and I seriously love it. I wasn't sure I would, but it has a fantastic sound and Robyn's vocals are on form here. It's not a million miles away from 'With Every Heartbeat' either.
March 24, 200916 yr I agree with the Pitchfork review. I was really disappointed with Happy Up Here, it was formulaic Royksopp, nothing different from their previous material, but The Girl And The Robot is very different and...so far...I like it!
March 25, 200916 yr Best song of 2009 so far for me, I love this song so much, just imagine how good it would sound in the summer if we have decent weather, absolutely mesmerizing Can anyone recommend the album, cos I don't know whether to buy this track on it own or go all out and get the whole album
