only as part of a silly rule which discounted the fact that we have Norwegian, Russian, Macedonian Hungarian (and other) foreign participants on here...if UK, Sweden and Ireland are all banned again, it's only fair that everything else is...as unfortunate as it will be to lose Tone, it's only fair :snif:

I totally agree as the original rule was ridiculous to allow losing NF's except Sweden, UK & Ireland finalists.

So yeah, can we bring the rule back to the original one which had been in place until recently?

Caroline's being ineligible isn't the end of the world. Too bad that she won't be shining in BJSC :(

Thank you Pavel! ^_^ I know you quite clearly love this song but it would have never been eligible today and had the rule not been slightly altered recently, I don't think anyone would have even considered suggesting a MF song as an entry.

Actually.. is unfair to ban Tone - Butterflies.. she have been allowed to use all the time.. before BJSC XV...

go for it Aaron, withdraw the rule if Pavel has agreed...this will unfortunately make Tone, Caroline and Cyndi ineligible (and Velvet, Tom) but there we go...like you say, we managed without national finals entries before and we will again :D

Before XV, yes, but if someone tried to enter this to XIII it would have been banned. The rules blurring at that stage was a bad decision imo as it has had a knock-on effect with MF, UK and Ireland now being unbanned and me causing a big drama about it.

MF artists have and always will be used.

 

I think the way forward is to sort out the Mods, and then sort out the issue of the confirmation for XV ie do we allow the rule change to stand for XV for a discussion after the contest or do we revert fully to the original rule (No NF's) and have a full, proper and open consultation after the contest with a vote in which the suggestion with the most votes will become the new rule.

Gosh, it's like I've been given control all of a sudden. I hope it doesn't feel like I've thrown my toys out of the pram to get my own way. :(

 

But yes, we didn't have them before and we don't need them now. perhaps we could use them as a spin off one day, or as a new thing in the Eurovision forum
