Very exited about this! One of my favorite shows and one of only 2 decent shows on ITV.

Prof. Nick Cutter is leaving at the end of the series according to the Daily Star.

Awww! :( I hope thats not true.

Joining this series we have Ben Mansfield as Captain Becker.

Missed the first 20-odd minutes of it but on the whole i think it was a good episode.

The lack of Stephen is strange but the new hottie makes up for it as far as looks go, and i think Laila Rouass is a good addition aswell.

However i cant help but feel that the Helen Cutter thing is just going round in circles and god knows what the stortyline between Lester and the woman is. Less imprtantly, Abbie's hair looks awful aswell and there was a rather lack of Jenny in the first episode aswell which hopefully wont continue through the series.

The creature this week was good but the whole bowing thing was slightly ridicolous imo.

I forgot to ask the same since id quite like to watch the first 1/3.

There is ITV Catchup, but i always end up with about a billion adverts and no actual programmes which is strange.

Last series was repeated on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm on ITV1 I think, not sure if they are going to do the same again.

I managed to watch it last night, looked a bit ropey to begin with, but overall it was pretty good.

I really liked it!

Wasn't expecting much really, I never thought the first two series were amazing, but this episode was really good!

'a bit ropey' martin? thats an understatement.

its utter bollox, theres so many holes in the plotline (accepting the anomally as possible aside) that im sure it was written by kids.

how TIRESOME is it that every week these dinosaurs pop through the anomally and look around then roar? <_< .... boooooorrrrriiiinnnng.

with more intelligent writing this could be quite good, but its getting more sameish then dr who and more predictable then eastenders. its only marginally worse then robin hood which is another opportunity completely missed on bad continuity and repetitive storylines coupled with an unhealthy portion of 'as if' !!!

^ Rob, that is what makes me like it! Utterly trashy, but strangely endearing!

I agree it has a trashy charm, but I do feel some of the writing is a bit lazy and there just a few too many plotholes for my liking.

A giant prehistoric crocodile was able to cross most of London, and only be noticed when it eventually ran amok in a restaurant? Cutter and S Club girl jut run off and leave a dead body unattended in a street? Hmmm...

On the plus side, Laila Rouass seems like she could be a decent addition, although what this means for Lucy Brown's character I don't know.

EXACTLY! you can accept the premis for an anomoly leading to a hole in time... for interests sake, but basic lazy ridiculous plotlines like that ruin what could be an interesting drama. too lazy, too sameish, lost opportunity.

I'm sorry, but there's no WAY you can say this is worse than Robin Hood!

why not?..... the massive flaws in primeval are far worse then in robin hood, and they BOTH use the same plotlines week after week. both are sameish, both MISS the opportunity they have to be great, but primevals errors are breathtakingly bad as shoat pointed out by example.

I have to agree with Rob... And, speaking as someone who quite enjoyed the first two series of Primeval, this was just pretty cr@p..... I mean, ffs, have ITV just forgotten how to make decent popular drama or what....? I just cant help but get the feeling that had this been done by a US network or cable/satellite station, it would've been done a whole lot better.... I look at US shows with a similar theme such as Sliders or Quantum Leap and how well they were done, and then compare it to this..... And, I'm afraid it's a case of "oh dear..".

I'm afraid to say, that on this evidence, Primeval has sunk to "Demons" or "Bonekickers" level in terms of the standards of writing and acting.....
