May 30, 200916 yr SuBo and Hollie FTL! Flawless or Diversity (Preferably the former) FTW!! :cheer: I also don't get the "Bravest girl in the world" thing either! ERM... HELLO... What about the kids with a serious illness and fighting for their lives?! EDIT: Just seen Aidan's performance and WOW! I WOULD want him to win, but I don't want another young lad, solo dancer winning again! :heehee: I will not be disappointed if he won though! As long as it ain't a bloody singer
May 30, 200916 yr Well of course the public school educated Lily Allen knows far more about vocal talent (via her fake mockney love child of Ian Dury vocals) than Andrew Lloyd Webber doesn't she (after what ALW said tonight praising "The Boyle"), remember he slaughtered Leon Jackson, saying it was a travesty that Rhydian Roberts did not win XF 2007, and was not complimentary about the XF winner of 2008 either calling her singing (rightly IMHO) "perfunctary". Lily Allen didn't say that Susan Boyle had a bad voice - she said she was 'overrated' and I still agree with her on this. I'm sorry Rich - but it was the WOW factor of her looking 'a little odd' and that perfectly 'nice' voice coming out of it. But to me that is all the voice was - nice (edit - actually 'very' nice) and a lot better than the other singers in this final by the way including the equally overrated Shaheen. But had someone in their mid 30's (and lets just say for argument's sake - mildly attractive) got up at the auditions and sung that song exactly the same - would the reaction be as stupidly over the top as it has been. I do think her performance on the auditions of BGT was extraordinary and one of the best moments of a show of its kind. However - the joy for me (and I'm sure a lot of others) was seeing the smirks wiped off the faces of the audience members. If I hadn't already read in the Mirror a few days before about what was to happen - it probably would have been even more enjoyable. I'm not a great Lily Allen fan and she does sometimes put her foot in it - but on this matter I think she's right. I'm even less of a fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber so I'm not too interested in what he has to say. On last night's program surely some sort of set-up was there. And I agree with what a lot of other posters (including you) have said - children's talent should be showcased in a show just for children - not mixed in with adults. May 30, 200916 yr Just watching it now, The break dancing boy was REALLY good, I enjoyed watching him the most. The girl who cried was nothing but average. And the guy at the end, LOL, weirdest thing I've EVER seen in my life.
May 30, 200916 yr Wow, how bloody awful. There's something really not right with this show, I can't put my finger on it but hopefully there's not that many more series to come in the near future, as for the finalists; Susan Boyle; Pretty mediocre. Average voice, backed up by the "fairytale" like life she's leading. Don't know if she'll do as well as expected due to the media backlash in the last couple of days. Aidan Davis; He's better than George Sampson technically, but not creative wise. George's final performance last year was brilliant, so who knows if he can pull it off? Shaheen; Mariah Carey trapped inside a young boys body, quite possibly the most cringe worthiest singer in the final. Flawless; Bit like Aidan, technical ability is there, creativity isn't. Stavros Flatley; LOL. Diversity; I hope Diversity win it! The opposite to Flawless(+ Aidan), more creative. Julian Smith; Nothing more than your average saxophone player. For proof, check the London Underground. Hollie Steel; Average. Only got through due to sympathy vote. Shaun Smith; Only decent singer in the competition, 'Aint No Sunshine' was sung well, hopefully he'll sing that 2 Grand; The girls good, she should ditch Granddad and go solo.
May 30, 200916 yr Well I’d have to say SuBo still has to be the overwhelming favourite to win especially as she’ll receive strong regional support from Scotland. Dancers Diversity Flawless Aidan Davis Stavros Flatley (comedy) Looks like the dance vote will be hopelessly split, Stavros Flatley will pick up the comedy votes and Aidan will have a battle on his hands with Shaun for the teenage girl vote. Singers SuBo Shaun Smith Shaheen Jafargholi Hollie Steel 2 Grand Again there is a lot of choice for the sentimental granny/housewife vote. Shaun could do well with the teen vote provided the “producers” haven’t sabotaged him with a rubbish song choice. Shaheen will be odds on to be back on Jackson territory… could get an ethnic vote? Musicians Julian Smith Dark horse indeed! He’s got a clear niche there. Has Cowell bought the rights to Stranger On The Shore?
May 30, 200916 yr Sadly, I'm not in to watch the Final, but this clip perfectly sums up this ludicrous yet utterly entertaining Britain Patronises the Children and Mentally Impaired Simon Cowell money grabbing vehicle. NpBceQ4toKg :D
May 30, 200916 yr HOLLIE STEEL DID NOT DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCE I still think Susan Boyle will win, although I hope either Diversity of Flawless do instead.
May 30, 200916 yr I want Aidan or Diversity to win from the semi performances, but who knows who may bugger it up tonight!
May 30, 200916 yr Will Amanda Holden have a great performance tonight, by popping out :o she is sporting a good pair of jugs.
May 30, 200916 yr WOW! What a start! Amazing, absolutely phenomonal! If they're all up to that standard, then....amazing.
May 30, 200916 yr Flawless where alright, the fact that the incredibily tedious Michael Jackson style held em back. This Mariah Housten guy. Jesus.
