Interestingly the Irish number 1 in the week that Islands In The Stream was at the top has only managed 3 weeks in the Irish Top 50! Do You Believe by Julie-Anne Dineen went 1 - 3 - 16 - out.

interesting that Love Story has passed My Life Would Suck Without You in terms of total sales...I wish Taylor had beaten Kelly to No.1 that week!
'Gold' by ABBA has now become only the 4th Album to spend 400, (or more),

Weeks in the UK Album Chart.

The Top 4 'Most Weeks On Chart' UK Albums are:,

1) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 478 Weeks (1 Week at No.1)

2) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 474 Weeks (Peaked at No.9)

3) Greatest Hits - Queen - 472 Weeks (4 Weeks at No.1)

4) Gold - ABBA - 400 Weeks (8 Weeks at No.1)

Just wondering, does BOOH ever re-appear in the chart? I'd LOVE for that to be the most. One of, if not the, best album ever

Those kind of old albums only generally re-enter the chart if the act is in the news for some reason, like announcing a new album or something. Or....Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical?

Why the sudden resurgence for La Roux?

I guess it's down to Radio 1 finally adding it to their playlist

Great chart facts as always zeus! Can I check what the deal is again with the Platinum Collection by Queen vs. GH1 sales/top75 weeks? Are they combined, or will the new relaxed "deluxe" album rulles effect that?

Also some of the weeks are from when it was a top100 for a bit weren't they (confusing). cheers

girls aloud and britney should reach the top 20 soon I hope...

and hopefully lily Allen is top 10 next week!!!

Spicefunk - NONE of the 472 Chart Weeks of 'Greatest Hits', by Queen are from 'The Platinum Collection'.

That Triple Queen Set has spent 155 Weeks in the Top 75.

To answer your question about the Album Chart once being a Top 100:,

The Top 4 'Most Weeks On Chart' UK Albums are:,

1) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 478 Weeks (1 Week at No.1)

2) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 474 Weeks (Peaked at No.9)

3) Greatest Hits - Queen - 472 Weeks (4 Weeks at No.1)

4) Gold - ABBA - 400 Weeks (8 Weeks at No.1)

But - the Top 3 Albums all have Positions from No.76 to No.100 added in. This was from when the

Chart was 'Officially' a Top 100, from August 8th 1981 to January 14th 1989.

Without those Top 100 Weeks, the Top 4 looks like this:,

1) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 440 Weeks (So 34 of its 474 Chart Weeks are for No.76 to No.100 Positions)

2) Greatest Hits - Queen - 410 Weeks (So 62 of its 472 Chart Weeks are from No.76 to No.100 Positions)

3) Gold - ABBA - 400 Weeks (All of its Chart Weeks are from the Top 75)

4) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 366 Weeks (So 112 of its 478 Chart Weeks are for No.76 to No.100 Positions)

And if the Top 100 had carried on being used after January 1989, the Top 4 would look like this:,

1) Gold - ABBA - 557 Weeks

2) Greatest Hits - Queen - 529 weeks

3) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf 506 Weeks

4) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 503 Weeks
