Doves look set to score another number one album this Sunday, with their new set Kingdom Of Rust (Heavenly) leading a wealth of new entries to the chart.

 

The Heavenly album sold around 18,500 units on its day of release yesterday, comfortably outselling nearest competitor Lady GaGa’s The Fame (Polydor), which topped the charts last week.

 

Kingdom Of Rust should be joined in the chart this Sunday by new albums from Bat For Lashes (Two Suns [Echo / Parlophone]), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (It’s Blitz [Polydor]) and Eoghan Quigg (Eoghan Quigg [RCA]), all of which look set to enter the top ten according to early sales reports.

 

Neil Young’s new album Fork In The Road (Reprise) should secure a top twenty placing, while Ultravox’s greatest hits set The Very Best Of (Chrysalis) should make the forty.

 

On the singles chart, Lady GaGa’s Poker Face (Polydor) is set to secure another week at number one, while AR Rahman’s Jai Ho! and Noisettes’ Don’t Upset The Rhythm will fight it out for two and three.

 

La Roux’s In For The Kill (Polydor) should make the most substantial gains, however, climbing into the top five, where it will be joined by Calvin Harris’s new single I’m Not Alone (Columbia).

 

Ciara feat. Justin Timberlake’s Love Sex Magic (LaFace), Depeche Mode’s Wrong (Mute) and Liverpool Collective / Kop Choir’s Fields Of Anfield Road (Robot) should all challenge for top twenty placings.

I think Doves will ease to No.1 in the album charts, although Now 72 will obviously top the combined chart...

The Doves could manage the #1 album, I reckon. Poker Face should still be #1 in the singles chart too!

I think PF will stay at number one, too. Calvin will stall at 2. Ciara and Liverpool will be top 20 today, but between 7-9 by the end of the week, IMHO :)
