what happened to the judges votes?

I reckon we relied a lot on the jury votes. We did get a 12, a few 10s etc. but we got quite a lot of points from 1-4 which probably meant we scored very well with the jury but got little from tele-votes so it averaged out that way.

 

Still, 5th is great. (though I was certain on 4th) Actually, bar the winner, the top 5 probably contained some of my top 5! Azerbaijan, UK, Iceland and Turkey. :wub:

 

But OMG, BBC News is putting a downer on our result. "It turns out it wasn't her time after all" etc. :nocheer:

Made £9.14 bet wise. not amazing, but it pays for my Escala CD :kink:

 

Norway - Great winner, love love love love the song, shame they lost me money by kicking the UK down a place.

 

Iceland - I'll take 2nd behind the record breaking runaway winner. :wub: I would have prefered an Icelandic victory, but i am totally in love with the song [/bias]

I'm not against the Norway track I like it, but it did not deserve a landslide victory, I just like a competition that could have gave a few surprises, with the top track falling a few times than staying at the top throughout the whole voting procedure from the start to the finish. I do think Iceland was the better track over Norway. Anyway its Oslo next year.

Estonia just shocked everyone, but i'm very pleased with their result! :wub:

 

You've also got to remember that countries in certain parts of the world have similar tastes. Our chart is similar to the Irish chart, so there's no reason why Bosnia's music taste isn't going to be similar to countries around it. If they send a fairly big Bosnian artist they're likely to be well known in that country and recieve points as a result....

Ukraine was a BIG dissapointment, along with Albania. Thought both of these entries would fair very well.

 

Oh well UK has reversed its reputation.

They were incorporated into the televote results. The number of points were the amalgamation of jury and televotes.

The votes announced were a combination of jury votes & telephone votes (50/50 I think!)
