Norway and Iceland didn't get their placing because of the neighbouring. Though they could have gotten less points , but u cant say that they dont have neighbours: (Where they got 12 they could have gotten 10 from a neighbour or less)

The group that gives lots of points to each other is :

Norway,Iceland,Denmark,Estonia,Finland and Sweden

Where Finland got 16 out of 22 points from these countries and Sweden got 25 of 33

8 of the top 10 in the final came from semi final 2 which is good

This was an advantage for the semi-final 2 contestants cos ppl recognize more the songs because it had only been 2 days! Though performances from the first semi-final were not so fresh so it seems like u see it first time. This is a big disadvantage for the Big 4 , but the Big 4 will not qualify 99.9% of the times if they had to be in the semi-finals

In 2002 we did not win for 12 points (if i remember well) and we didn't have crap (though the winners (Latvia) had)

And in 1998 Chiara was still fresh cos it was her first time.

I know she wasn't the best (obv) but she deserved at least 5 places higher.

And to that someone that said that Russia would have won 10 times because of neighbours i was talking about :

1 Russia 1353 (1 Win)

2 Greece 1286 (1 Win)

3 Turkey 1152 (1 Win)

4 Ukraine 1026 (1 Win)

5 Norway 916 (1 Win)

6 Sweden 868

7 Bosnia and Herzegovina 810

8 Romania 686

9 Denmark 664 (1 Win)

10 Latvia 653 (1 Win)

11 Malta 563

12 Armenia 558

13 Estonia 550 (1 Win)

14 Spain 510

15 France 499

16 Croatia 496

17 Germany 463

18 United Kingdom 445

19 Finland 444 (1 Win)

20 Serbia 428 (1 Win)

21 Iceland 427

22 Israel 421

23 Serbia and Montenegro 400

24 Moldova 348

25 Azerbaijan 339

here's the top 25 of the decade

Why do u think the first is russia? russia shouldn't have gotten that high place! ?Though neighbours gave it some votes (few 12s but more 8s and more like that )

The first is Russia because they've generally sent rather amazing stuff this decade...

My thought really.

Although i'm very picky onto Russian entries i admit that 2007, 2006, 2003 and even 2004 were very good ones and at least first 3 deserved to do well!!

I'm quite confident we'll go down to mediocre next year, unless we send something like Serebro again (btw NO National Final has been held that year, they have been kept as a secret as long the organisators could ;D)

But dont u think that they get over 20 points (not to exxegerate) from neighbours? This would be about 20 les points and they would have been knocked off first place. Nearly everyone has neighbours so that would do same but few countries are neighbourless or only have 1 neighbour such as Malta, Ireland, Portugal, cyprus

How many neighbours does Russia have??

There are so many countries in Eastern Europe it'd be bloody hard for them not to vote for each other seeing as they tend to make up a good chunk of the finalists

alsou was the only russian song i really liked i do think they do better than they deserve but that is only my opinion

Nevertheless Portugal does quite well so far! They try to do something new everytime. Chiara's time on ESC is over, unfortunately. :( And Malta should be doing as Portugal do.

Portugal changes a lot... been in 42 ESC and no wins.

Chiara's time on ESC is over .. u said... but it is not. She will try again until she wins! Hope no foreign composer will write any song for Malta.

The tension makes it more amazing tbh! If you STRUGGLE to do something you fail most of the times, if not - you reach what you need eventually.

I can imagine! :kink:

Last year's ESC was quite great considering we won, plus it wasn't Russia's only thing in which we were the best, hockey (or football  ), Miss World et cetera...

Wow, we have our National day so it was just amazing to see crowd's and parade's and waving flag

As i was at my dads watching it yesterday and not being able to get on here until 7.

I have to firsty a massive shock improvement from the UK this week. Jade should be really happy. Stunning vocal and song performance.

There were loads of Crap but there were also some good IMO.

Denmark, Malta & Iceland () Iceland was by a mile my favourite absolutely amazing.

Now onto Norway. It definently wasn't good enough to win IMO and was not keen on it at all at the time then they got awarded huge 12's and 10's from the majority of the countries. Why?

There were much better songs than that however after thinking about it early this morning i can now say its ok but still nothing special and definently didn't deserve to win. The performance & song was good and it was just voice that wasn't good enough and at the time i had heard pretty much the same song uptil Norway then the cheesyness just made me think why is this bookie favourite however they've won and thats that.

Graham Norton was very good at the Wogan takeover role. Some things he said made me p*** myself laughing it was so freeking funny.

On the whole an alright Eurovision, not great winner IMO but at least UK did succeed hugely for first since 2002 & Iceland coming at least near to the win :D

Does anyone have the full top 25 table/rankings this year they could post? Or is it posted somewhere and I've missed it?

Wikipedia has it ;)

And tbh we had it literally seconds after the Final finished :heehee:

I'm quite shocked how fast they update Wiki! :o
