An iconic song with an iconic video and VMA performance

The beginning me of me becoming a little obsessed with her as well was when she released this.

Paparazzi

10 years since the single release, time flies!

"Shadow is burnt,

Yellow dance and we turn

My lashes are dry

Purple teardrops I cry

It don't have a price

Loving you is cherry pie"

What are your thoughts on the song, 10 years on?

What a song! Bold, brilliant, life-affirming. Always goes OFF live too. Her performance at the Monster Ball.. the VMAs. We have no choice but to stan.

I love how it is so fitting with the theme of The Fame but so dark and twisted in its portrayal of that.

I remember watching the 'Paparazzi' video the day it was released (I honestly can't believe it's already been 10 years) and was truly in awe, probably the first time I'd felt such a way about a new music video. She felt so exciting both sonically and visually. Still a fantastic song

What is this past tense! SHE STILL IS :nono:

Easily in my top 5 fave Gaga songs, my fave video, and the moment which turned me into the crazy Gaga stan that I am today. What a moment

Yeah I love the lyrics and how it has so many meanings: a lover, the media, fan culture etc.

The video is a masterpiece - her first GREAT one - the rest was history.

I remember being raging at music channels back in the day because they edited/butchered the video to death  Removed scenes of the hanging model, Gaga being assaulted, the making out on the sofa, etc!

The first ever Gaga song I heard (it was sent to BJSC in 2008) and still, to this day, her absolute best song and video. SUCH A MOMENT.

And THAT VMAs performance... legit don't know a better performance.

A song I adored so much back in the day yet feel she’s topped quite a lot now.

But to produce a video like that and a live performance like the VMA one we got in your debut era says something!!

It was a 2 week #1 on my personal chart too. The only artist to get their first three songs go to #1 at the time (and only Rita Oras done it since).

11 years!

Wow. And it STILL sounds as good now as it did 12 years ago when I first heard it :cheeseblock:
