It was the SEVENTH song from Bad

That's nothing, he released 7 from "Thriller" and there were only 9 SONGS on the album

I really don't understand how a song like 'Smooth Criminal' could only originally reach #8! :o

I can. It was the 7th of 9 singles released from his 1987 Bad album. So most of the people who loved the track already had the album.

Great song. The chart - excluding Jason Mraz - has been really good this week.

100% agree.

Gossip climbing and Earth Song already top 40 is great.

Here's Michael Jackson's best song imo :D

Head girl I think

The head girl was Gemma Arterton, wasn't it?

Don't know who Paloma played...guess it was a fairly small part.

"Billie Jean" is a pop anthem, I remember when I watched Madonna sing it on Youtube, you know your song is a classic when the QUEEN of pop covers it
Top 10 next week for this, smooth criminal, MITM and Thriller, perhaps Beat It too

She played Andrea the emo

Why were all of MJ's songs re-released in 2006?

20 of his biggest 80s and 90s hits were released in consecutive weeks in cardboard slip cases as a dualdisc - 1 side CD and 1 side DVD video. I bought Earth Song.

Onle two MJ songs still to come: Thriller (top 20 maybe?) and Man In The Mirror (top 10 or even higher?)
I can. It was the 7th of 9 singles released from his 1987 Bad album. So most of the people who loved the track already had the album.

I suppose when you put it like that, it's quite clear!

It's just that it's such a classic song, I'd never have thought it had missed the top 3!

38 RE 19 Michael Jackson - Earth Song *

39 26 11 Eminem - We Made You

40 28 15 The Prodigy - Warrior's Dance

Billie Jean has aged well in my opinion, better than a lot of his tracks. I'm still suprised with all the love for Man In The Mirror.

Billie Jean = My all time favourite MJ song.

The song that propelled Michael Jackson & the Thriller album into the stratosphere, after the lead single The Girl Is Mine.

In a list compiled by Rolling Stone, music critics and MTV in 2000, the song was listed as the sixth greatest pop song since 1963.

At the end of the 1980s MTV rated Billie Jean as the greatest song of the decade.
