June 28, 200916 yr On a personal level I strongly dislike Earth Song for two reasons: 1. The messianic video only equalled by his equally crass performance at the Brits in the beginning of 1996. CJqIEU6RfUo Little wonder You Are Not Alone topped the US Billboard charts, then The Earth Song followed it up by bombing and failing to reach the US Top 100. 2. It stopped The Beatles - Free As A Bird making #1. And Beatles fans like Michael Jackson about as much as Girls Aloud & Sugababes fans don't get on.

June 28, 200916 yr 37 (from 40) Gossip - Heavy Cross [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697536832.JPG Chart Run: 47-42-40-37 [4 wks] Release date: 15-6-2009 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 88697536832 Label: BMG The tail-end of the 1990s spawned a legion of stripped-down, bass-free indie outfits, with Detroit's White Stripes and the Olympia-based indie trio, the Gossip, at the fore. Inevitably compared to the Detroit duo, in truth, the Gossip displayed greater affinity with the politicised 'riot grrl' movement of the early '90s. Their 2000 debut full-length, THAT'S NOT WHAT I HEARD, twinned raging indie-rock with pro-gay lyrical content and made an underground star of vocalist Beth Ditto. STANDING IN THE WAY OF CONTROL--their third full-length--released in 2006, added some disco heat to the band's punk-soul mix. - HMV Video here: track listing 1. Heavy Cross 2. As the Record for the most singles simultaneously in Top 75 was 13 by The Jam (January 1983) - after the band split up, and all their singles were reissued simultaneously.
June 28, 200916 yr Delighted that 'Heavy Cross' has a new peak. And 'Thriller' was the final single released from the album of the same title.
June 28, 200916 yr The album is out! :cheer: I haven't heard the album though. :nocheer: There's a free song from it on Amazon ;)
June 28, 200916 yr all Gossip songs sound the same to me... They certainly have a distinctive sound! I think this is one of their best though. I'm not too keen on the new album tbh. :(
