Well with a new album out soon (I THINK) I think we should start a thread for her. She needs appreciation  (I'm not bumping her 'As I Am' album thread as it's a bit dated now... :P)

She just posted a pic on her twitter (@SuperwomanAK) from the set of 'Looking for Paradise' with Alejandro Sanz. (I THINK it'll be more for him rather than new material for her new album... I may be wrong though.)

Looking stunning as per

So DISCUSS her! Hopefully with a new album soon, we'll be able to get a forum for her :arrr:

Oooh didnt know she had twitter!

Loved most of her previous material - No One, Fallin, If I Aint Got You - fantastic songs! Cant wait for the next album.

I LOVE her. Anyone who says R&B is meaningless (LOL) should listen to her work. Lame generalisation as she's such a phenomenal writer.

"The Diary of Alicia Keys" is her best album to date, although her three studio records have all produced some quality material. She has yet to have a bad album, although there's plenty of time for that...

I believe J Records said her album is due out by the end of the year, but I'm not sure about that.

If anyone's deserved of a forum it's A-Keys, but unfortunately her popularity is not as strong as it is in the U.S. I remember when she blew up, and thought "woah, this girl's gonna be a legend".

although her three studio records have all produced some quality material. She has yet to have a bad album, although there's plenty of time for that...

I agree, each album has provided one genuinely excellent single at least. "Fallin'" from her debut, "If I Ain't Got You" from the second and "No One" from the third. I know they're predictable choices, but they're basically classics to me (without even going into other songs of hers) so I hope the new album has at least one more song that goes down as a classic for me. I have every faith in her ability to do so, I couldn't imagine her producing an album of rubbish. Hard to access? Maybe. A load of crap? No.

This girl's voice is just lush, don't really know how to describe it. I could just listen to her all day she's got the vocals, accent, tone everything. Looking forward to seeing what she does.

She's a genuinely brilliant artist and all-round talent. Real soul, a great songwriter, as well as an actress and various other bits and bobs. Sometimes you forget she's only 28... she's probably the most talented artist to emerge this decade. She'll go down as a legend in years to come. As I Am rate:

09.0 Go Ahead

09.0 Superwoman

10.0 No One

09.5 Like You'll Never See Me Again

09.0 Lesson Learned

08.5 Wreckless Love

08.0 The Thing About Love

08.5 Teenage Love Affair

07.5 I Need You

08.5 Where Do We Go From Here

09.0 Prelude To A Kiss (wish it was longer!)

09.0 Tell You Something

08.0 Sure Looks Good to Me

I love how she's become a real video artist too. She's not had a video that's been anything less than spectacular in years.

I absolutely adore Alicia Keys, she really is such a great talent and puts so much emotion into her songs too I think. I was so disappointed when the follow up singles to 'No One' flopped hard (well in the UK at least). 'Teenage Love Affair' in particular was amazing! :(
As I Am album was amazing  I'd love for her to release another album soon ^_^
Agreed on the videos. With her last era, a pattern seemed to be forming as the more spectacular the video was, the harder the song flopped
I loved the As I Am album... shame she doesn't do that well in the UK but I'm excited for another album. :)
"Like You'll Never See Me Again" might be my favourite song of hers. Great slow R&B jam with a moving lyric.
  • 1 month later...

According to popular celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie, Alicia Keys' fourth studio album will be released in late November of this year.

News of the album has been kept under wraps, but it is known that Keys has been working closely with long-time collaborator Kerry Brothers Jnr, who has worked with the her on all three of her albums, including some of her biggest singles such as "No One", "Karma", and "Diary".

The 28-year-olds last album "As I Am" was the biggest selling album in America of 2008 according to Billboard. The lead single "No One" was also the most listened to song of the year with over 3 billion listeners (which means every American citizen heard that song on the radio about 10 times). The follow up single "Like You'll Never See Me Again" also met great success and was ranked the biggest R&B/Hip-Hop song of the year.

It's alright. It got lost :drama: She has talent so it was inevitable really :snif:
This seems REALLY soon by her standards, I hope it isn't rushed.
  • 3 weeks later...
Lead single "Doesn't Mean Anything" premieres next week. I hope it's as instant as "No One".

AAHHHH! So soon! :o

For it to have a chance against X-Factor effect etc... it needs to be instant like 'No-One' (for the UK anyway) in the US she'll smash either way seeing as they don't have X Factor LOL.

Wooooow! Wasnt expecting anything this soon, especially considering how much of a gap she left between Diary Of Alicia Keys and As I Am.

Obviously cant wait though!
