Well, it doesn't appear to be too many on the waiting list at the moment, so we can put it to proper use if/when this happens, but you are going to open it when we have fixed this anyway, as far as I can tell, and we are still trying to make this work with 2 semis' either way, but it seems a bit impossible if we try to solve something that clearly cannot be solved without people falling out of this.

 

the 3 small semis' seems like a good option, but I understand if it gets too much. I'm really just wondering..

I explained before how we'd be mad to have 3 semis as they just wouldn't work. Realistically the final cannot contain more countries than it does now.

 

So we have a final of 29 countries. One hosts and autoqualifies. If we have 55 countries who want to enter it leaves 54 plus a host. You can divide 54 by 2 or 3 to make 2 or 3 semis.

 

If we have two semis there will be 27 countries in each, with 14 going through giving a final of 29 (the maximum), meaning 51.85% of countries make the final from each semi.

 

If we have three semis there will be 18 countries in each, of which 9 will qualify, giving a final of 28. This means that 50% of countries make the final from each semi.

 

So by having three semis you have less chance of making the final, as well as less chance of being in the same semi as your favourite songs and less chance of your song being in the semi with the people which love it most.

 

How can anyone realistically support that?! Especially when most people agree that having more countries not qualifying than are should never happen...

Sorry, we aren't open to new countries at the moment unfortunately...this is until further notice, so hopefully we'll be re-opening to new countries in a few months :o

Nope, you can still attempt to confirm, it'll just be rejected if too many others confirm and you're too far down the list. If you'd have confirmed this month, we'd have had 54 participants (which I think is the absolute maximum?) and even if we were limiting to 53, you'd have been in over Hitanya. :lol:
