We know "New In Town" was a bad choice for a first single, but where will this rank? 58 members have voted

  1. 1. Time to be realistic, it can be a huge hit, barely make top 10/20 ala "In My Arms", or completely flop.

    • #1 - it definitely deserves to anyway.

Just wait and see where a-ha - Foot Of The Mountain are in 24 Hours time on iTunes. I bet it will be significantly higher than it is currently.

Hope so

Anyway, I'm going to be optimistic and say top 10 for Boots - its an amazing song

Remedy got to 50 because of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross performance, then it bombed after Michael Jackson died, and now it's been floating in the low 100s, then shot up after the video premiered

In that case I can't see why it can't go Top3. It's one of the things around at the moment.

I'm hoping to god that it goes top 10, given it is (IMHO) the best track of the year so far...Atlantic have well and truly screwed up her project though. They should have left album release until after Remedy...

I really like the song and she seems pretty likeable. I hope it goes top 20.

I think the video's funny though in the sense that she's singing the lyrics "Dancing is my remedy" but doesn't actually do any?

Top 10 HOPEFULLY! Deserves Top 3 but her label have f***ed her over so much I doubt it! :(

It'll help the album out (Which is what she really needs at the moment) quite a bit. (She should have released the album off the back of this :()

Victoria is hot I can't take my eyes off her lips

I'd describe her as cute, myself.

I want it to flop, but realistically, oh wait, i think it'll flop too

It's an average song at best from an average singer who hasn't exactly lived up to her hype through her music and through her success.

It baffles me that people think this will go to #1. Optimism? Wishful thinking? Many thought NIT would be number one but didn't even go top 10. Hands may have charted at five but then fell to #40 the week after. I think therefore it would chart low fifties at best but wouldn't be surprised if it charted outside top 75 (#85)

Wasn't she slagging off people in the press a few months back? ;)

That was Elly from La Roux.

Her too. I am pretty sure Boots was criticising Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke (someone from the X Factor anyway) and everyone (me included) was calling her a hypocrite as she herself auditioned for Pop Idol and failed to get far into the competition.

Judging by that, she seems like a bitter little person to me and, let's face it, her voice is nowhere near Leona's (even Leon Jackson's come to think of it  )

SIX, I think you're telling a bit of an untruth there. Provide a link to a supposed article of her doing this, and you may seem a bit more plausible...

Type in "little boots leona" to google and the link to the digital spy/the sun website will tell you.

If you can't find it, i'll sum it up in an unbiased way:

Boots says Leona lacks personality and that whenever she/other contestants hit a high note, everybody (on The X Factor) goes crazy. "It is one-dimensional". She says that looking at Leona, she's got a beautiful voice but nothing else. She also claims "my music is so much more than that".

Looking back again, it really does seem that she is bitter and jealous of Leona's success. She basically claims she's better than X Factor contestants but she auditioned for Pop Idol and only made it through to three rounds. Also, in the article she pretty much says that a voice isn't the most important thing. I'm sure though that when people listen to songs, it people's voices they here, not personalities

The Sun is hardly the bastion of the truth is it! Her voice is a million times Leon Jacksons - I remember his off key X Factaaaa performaces well unfortunately :(

Anyway, back to this glorious single - I voted top 15, but it deserves #1.

For a few years now it has started to tell the truth. Also, remember that The Sun were quoting her instead of using that cynical "a source said..." :D

Maybe the LJ was an exaggeration but if Boots can't get into the top 30 contestants of the Pop Idol year where there were the likes of Gareth and Darius then i don't really rate her as well.

You're judging her on the basis of what producers of a show which also had some real dreck in the top thirty thought?

Even if you're going to, you have to remember that she was being auditioned on her voice and her voice alone rather than her musical ability...I'm one of the biggest Little Boots loons on BJ but even I'll admit she has a pretty generic voice
