Calvin Harris has announced that he will release his second album, 'Ready For The Weekend', on August 17.

The Dizzee Rascal collaborator will precede the release with a single, also named 'Ready For The Weekend', out on August 10.

The song will feature vocals by singer Mary Pearce.

The single will be backed by remixes by High Contrast, Fake Blood and Dave Spoon.

Tracks set for the album include 'Relax' and 'Worst Day', plus his UK chart-topping Dizzee collaboration 'Dance Wiv Me' and his own Number One single, 'I'm Not Alone'.

In a statement Harris claimed the album boasts "massive riffs, big hands-in-the-air moments".

Meanwhile, see the current issue of NME, out now, for the exclusive lowdown on Calvin Harris and Dizzee Rascal's next joint single

I am loving Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La (the music to the coca cola advert:

Note sure about Ready For The Weekend yet, Calvin can be a bit hit and miss for me.

It's total and utter mediocrity, I was expecting something anthemic given a title like that. Major disappointment. :nocheer:

'Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La' is far better.

I hope Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La is the 3rd single from his new album and also that he includes Dance With Me on it.

is it just me or does it feel like Calvin, Dizzee, Tinchy, Ironik, Chipmunk and Taio Cruz could quite literally release any old song and go top 5 (or close) with it at the moment? The Brit males are definitely in vogue at the moment! Whilst I'm Not Alone deserved No.1 this track really doesn't in my opinion :(

Yes! (Apart from Chipmunk :kink:) Hopefully Taio gets his first Number 1 with his new one. Calvin and Dizzee really are on fire since they started working with each other. So I agree with you Rich. Taio deserves more success though. So REALLY hoping 'Break Your Heart' does it for him.

Calvin Harris, back with his 2nd album. You can hear clips from it over on iTunes

I've heard 5.

Looking forward to this. Loved his first album even though it was one great big cheesy pop album.

There's also a review on Popjustice, well not really a review but it says this:

The Calvin album: don't worry it's about 50x better than the first one

Over on iTunes you can listen to clips of all the jams on Calvin Harris' new album. It's basically full of hits. Top stuff.

I didnt like his first album, but thought the first 2 singles were good. Hopefully this will be better.
I got kind of bored of I'm Not Alone, and Ready For The Weekend isn't to great, pretty MOR in terms of a dance-pop-whatever he is production.
My god, Calvin seems really self-sentered. Apparently someone made a review on the album giving it 2 stars, and then on Twitter he has started swearing his mouth off and swearing at people! :o
