August 14, 200915 yr Ditto. Robot doesn't like songs about robots :snif: The Girl & The Robot is   stunning song, but a tad too subtle to be a big UK hit...With Every Heartbeat at least had a big hook 'still I'm dying with every step I take, but I don't look back'...songs generally need a singalong hook to do well in the UK, and The Girl & The Robot, as amazing as it is, doesn't really have a big hook

August 14, 200915 yr I see what you're saying, but it's a great song, and it would be no cheaper than Eva Simons in the grand scheme imho... not that it's a bad song at all... Really: It's all a matter of opinion, so lets see some stats for others to decide: Eva Simons v Mini Viva Release Date: 07 Sept v 07 Sept Radio 1 Playlist: No v B-List (& former Scott Mills Record of The Week and Radio 1 Track of the Weekend) UK Video Playlists: No (despite the video being available) v MTV Channels: Dance (B-List); Hits (C-List); TMF (C-List) UK iTunes: No sign inside Top 300 despite release on 31 July v #89 (Remix - climbing fast) Hype: Unknown Dutch artist signed to EMI originally hyped as (fake?) Rihanna ft Lady GaGa single bashing Chris Brown (which seems to have backfired on the track as it is getting snubbed for playlisting in the UK) v a new pop duo that is being launched by Xenomania (Girls Aloud, etc) who are signed with Geffen Records UK and are managed by Simon (Pop Idol, Spice Girls, S Club 7; etc) Fuller hyped as a modern day Mel & Kim; who've supported The Saturdays on a UK national tour.
August 14, 200915 yr Silly Boy has had far more pre-contest Buzzjack hype than I Left My Heart In Tokyo though, not just on the BJSC forum but in chart chat and the pop forum... I still don't see either song as being anything like Bulletproof, Jai Ho or Love Story for example as I know both Kath and Rob selected these tracks quite far in advance to them getting any sort of hype from anywhere whatsoever
August 14, 200915 yr Phil is a flop Scot :smoke: Thats fine by me coz technically i'm English :smoke:
August 14, 200915 yr Thats fine by me coz technically i'm English :smoke: i have lived here for 19 an a bit years :heehee: :smoke: That makes you Scottish tbhz. Edited August 14, 200915 yr by BJBB Pavel
August 14, 200915 yr :smoke: That makes you Scottish tbhz. yes, it would enable me to claim Scottish Nationality. It comes in handy for getting money though, Scottish people get free tuition :magic: But, my parents are English and because i was born on a RAF base i had to be declared a nationality at birth, and that nationality was English. So :P lol, my accent is pretty english too, even though i have lived up here for 19years.
August 14, 200915 yr I'd have absorbed every possible accent if i lived in Scotland   I dislike pretty much all of them, to be honest. The further north and west you go from where i am the worst it gets to be brutal [imo]
August 14, 200915 yr How funny it is we actually don't have any accents like you people do, only minor dialects all over the place but they are hardly that different comparing british accents for instance, even though we're the biggest country :o

Australia is kinda like Russia then, one generic accent for the whole country. Strange.
August 14, 200915 yr Zechonia voted. Wasn't that hard to find the 10 songs but all of those 10 are pretty great and stand out from the rest. Especially the top 3.
August 14, 200915 yr Eva Simons will almost definately be pushed back so I personally don't get your theory TiP.
August 14, 200915 yr I heard Aussie accent sucks :heehee: i quite like it :kink: being surrounded by it meant i just got used to it, it was strange to hear a different accent tbh. The Yanks at LAX threw me and then flyin BA home and through London was a shock to the system, not hearin a British accent for so long does make it rather unusual to hear everywhere all of a sudden.
