Posted August 24, 200915 yr Two slightly :heehee: different artists both releasing on 14th September 2009. But which will come out on top in release week? http://amygrindhouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/jay-z_blueprint3_cover-400x400.jpg So Jay-Z is back with his ELEVENTH studio album. With the single 'Run This Town' looking set to be huge at the end of August. With collaborations on the album from Kanye West, Rihanna, Mr Hudson plus more. This is set to be one of his biggest albums to date. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TkvY9Z4f4P8/SnqzUcfAamI/AAAAAAAABfI/pfpwPjmn0E8/s400/pixie%20lott.jpg Pixie Lott is releasing her highly anticipated DEBUT album 'Turn It Up'. Which includes the number 1 single 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' and the future smash 'Boys and Girls'. She really seems to be the under-dog this year. People under-estimate her it seems and this album could very well be bigger than people think. So GET predicting people! :o
August 24, 200915 yr Author I think Pixie will debut higher. But Jay-Z will sell alot more in the long-run.
August 24, 200915 yr I can see Pixie outselling and outpeaking Jay Z, she'll have far more promotion and two hit singles to launch the album.
August 24, 200915 yr This is tough. Jay-Z doesn't have a huge profile in the UK but Run This Town is a smash waiting to happen. Pixie Lott on the other hand has a number 1 under her belt and seems to be a new icon for the blandies. I don't think either will sell that well initially although Jay-Z may debut higher. In the long run though he probably won't have any more hit singles whereas she sadly will.
August 24, 200915 yr I think it will be Pixie for both. 'Run This Town' will be a big hit, but Pixie will probably end up having 2 #1's off the album.
August 24, 200915 yr I think Pixie will peak higher, but 'The Blueprint 3' will sell more in the long run (hopefully...). It really will be a f***ing joke though if Pixie gets the #1 and Jay-Z has to settle for #2.
August 24, 200915 yr I think Pixie will be bigger. Jay Ze isn't a big star in the UK as he is in the US.
August 24, 200915 yr Author Pixie for both, easily. Jay-Z is, almost, a nobody in the UK--he's irrelevant.I wouldn't say he is "irrelevant". ;) His set at Glastonbury just last year (when he had no new material) was a big success.
August 24, 200915 yr Two slightly :heehee: different artists both releasing on 14th September 2009. But which will come out on release week? ? are they likely to be delayed  if you're meaning which will be bigger, I say Pixie for both as it *could* get caught up in the xmas market, good stocking filler album probably...whereas Jay-Z just wouldn't be a contender in the xmas market by any stretch of the imagination...
August 24, 200915 yr I can possibly see Jay-Z peaking higher initially (or not), but Pixie is going to be the biggest seller in the longrun either way. She'll have bigger hit singles to follow after the album's release and she seems like the sort of person who'd sell albums more than Jay-Z here.
August 24, 200915 yr Author ? are they likely to be delayed  if you're meaning which will be bigger, I say Pixie for both as it *could* get caught up in the xmas market, good stocking filler album probably...whereas Jay-Z just wouldn't be a contender in the xmas market by any stretch of the imagination...LMAO! Ooops typo
August 24, 200915 yr Author Muse will also be a contender for no 1 that week...I didn't mean number 1 necessarily :heehee: I just meant who'd peak HIGHER upon release. I think Muse pretty much have the number 1 in the bag. But this is what I said about Pixie being the "under-dog". Alot of people will under-estimate her I think.
August 24, 200915 yr Pixie for both as Jay-Z historically is not a major album seller in the UK. As others have mentioned Muse should easily be #1 that week though.
August 24, 200915 yr Pixie easily on both, as Jay Z has never been an album selling act and i cant see that changing now.
