August 26, 200916 yr Jade's set for a mega flop, it's the Eurovision curse :/ really pleased to see Example finally make the main playlists  and 4Ever is about 4 years too late but never mind :heehee:
August 26, 200916 yr it's not Eurovision thought is it. And they have playlisted other ex eurovision contestants before.

August 26, 200916 yr it's not Eurovision thought is it. And they have playlisted other ex eurovision contestants before. I'm struggling to think of any examples...usually an artists career dies in the UK after Eurovision, even if they've been popular before I'm sure Xylem would know if they playlisted Precious' Rewind, I'm sure they must have done!?! mind you, 2000 was a long time ago

August 26, 200916 yr A-List Arctic Monkeys - Crying Lightning - last week in the playlist? :teresa: Pixie Lott - Boys & Girls - YEY! :yahoo: Mika - We Are Golden - at last. :P Nneka - Heartbeat (Chase & Status remix) - HELL YEAH! :dancing: :dancing: B-List Coldplay - Strawberry Swing - still unheard Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart - Deadmau5 featuring Rob Swire - Ghosts N Stuff - one more step up. Keri Hilson - Energy - yey! Shakira - She Wolf - A-list next week, please. :) C-List * All Time Low - Weightless - okay track. The Big Pink - Dominos Example - Watch The Sun Come Up - 2 yeys for going up! Paloma Faith - New York - up next week, please. * Newton Faulkner - If This Is It - this is good. * La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy - Not a bad song, but it's a bad choice for a new single IMO. :( * Lady GaGa - Love Game - Could've been at B-list. * Madonna - Celebration - Could've been B-list but okay. * The Veronicas - 4Ever - 1-Upfront List * Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man - dunno Out: In Case Of Fire - :(
August 26, 200916 yr she came 8th in the Swedish Eurovision selection this year...didn't get to go though main difference is, hardly anybody in the UK knows anything about this, whereas everyone knows that Jade was a Eurovision act
August 26, 200916 yr Author Precious were indeed playlisted with Rewind. But once It's Gonna Be My Way flopped with B-list support, they ignored (I think) the fantastic New Beginning. But then it was 2000, and like Shoat said, they were playlisting the likes of Billie Piper, S Club 7, Jessica Simpson, N*Sync, BSB, Mandy Moore, Five, A1, ex-Spices, etc... Heck even Radio 2 artists like Whitney, Mariah, Gabrielle, Macy Gray, Craig David, Savage Garden, Cher, Hanson, etc, were supported on Radio 1 at the time.
August 26, 200916 yr YAY! for The Veronicas, and quite a good selection of additions this week. I'm not surprised about Jade Ewen or Kelly Clarkson being ignored. With Jade, it is the Eurovision thing, Radio 1 don't playlist anything Eurovision related... it's unfair but it's just the way it works. With an artist like Kelly, if a single flops as bad as 'I Do Not Hook Up' did Radio 1 certainly won't playlist any of the album's future singles, and that goes for most radio stations too so it's going to struggle to get anywhere. If 'Already Gone' can't do it for Kelly then that's it for this era, which is a shame as it's a fantastic album with loads of tracks that sound like potential hit singles on it. :( So much for all that claptrap tabloids were reporting about them ignoring Madonna, idiots. Surely if there's one artist that's always guaranteed a place on the playlist it's her. I am surprised it looks like they're refusing to playlist Mariah however, I think it'll now get low top 20 at best.
August 27, 200916 yr Author The "stop supporting once a single flops" only applies to certain artists. U2 (amongst others) seem to be doing just fine.
August 27, 200916 yr Why do U2 keep getting playlisted? I don't think I know any of their singles from their latest era!
August 27, 200916 yr THANK GOD they added Celebration. It'll surely move up to the A-list in a fortnight. I'm confident about #1 now.
August 27, 200916 yr The "stop supporting once a single flops" only applies to certain artists. U2 (amongst others) seem to be doing just fine. Yeah, it's mainly pop acts that suffer it. I remember they did it to Sophie a couple of years ago. They've always been reluctant to playlist Kelly anyway.
