Ryan, it's incredibly annoying when you don't adhere to my expectations!

Sorry to disappoint! :kink: I'll let somebody else be the centre of this "scandal"!

Fireflies fly the flag for FSR Rontvia!

British dream-pop act Still Corners' gorgeous single Fireflies has been announced as FSR Rontvia's 49th entry to the Buzzjack Song Contest, held this month in Ramrynia. Ricardo Delta said "Fireflies is an absolutely beautiful song, almost Sound-of-Arrows esque which is what caught our ear straight away, but it's also a huge grower which reveals more depth upon each listen". Fireflies jumped to No.3 in the Rontvian charts this week, up from No.8 last week. Rontvian idol Delta Goodrem remains at No.1 for a second week with new single Wish You Were Here whilst Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child is at No.2. Numaynia's entry, Whigfield's 4Ever, a former Rontvian No.1. spends its 4th consecutive week inside the top five, at No.5. The single is yet to crack the Numaynian top five at all, climbing to No.8 there this week. Listen to the sumptuous Rontvian entry here;

Fireflies HIT for FSR Rontvia

After months of flopping, the RTVN are said to be delighted at the performance of Still Corners' gorgeous Fireflies, a huge top three smash hit in FSR Rontvia, top five in Aeroche and looking to be a hit in Batidas soon having attracted a 12 pointer from the nation. Ricardo Delta said '12th is really pleasing, especially seeing as we got to 100 points. We were initially disappointed to have missed out on sending Whigfield but she finished behind us in the end, albeit only by a point. We have something really special lined up for BJSC 50, it should be a great contest and the only way is up!'.

I adore the song. That haunting synth melody in the intro, the hypnotic female vocals, just pretty much everything about the song is lush. A deserved 12 points from me and yes, can FSR Rontvia get their second Batidian chart topper of 2012 following Prance Faris 'Flares' back in February? :o

Flares  Pretty much a certainty to finish in my end of year top ten! Really pleased that you found such a great discovery in Fireflies!
I've had a good Ctrl+F in the Songs of BJSC thread and your entry is certainly your best since Blank / Emiliani Torrini / Sara Bareilles / Headhunted! I was aiming to mention just one there but I forgot how good you were back then. A brilliant return to form and I've glad you've done so well!

Onwards and upwards next month hopefully! Glad you both seemed to love it, 2009 were my real glory days though indeed, where inspiration matched results. 2010/11 were successful years for FSR Rontvia too but neither were as creative as 2009. Leww, check out I'm Going For Your Brother if you don't know it already, my entry to BJSC 16, you may approve? It's the sort of track that was probably too ahead of its time in BJSC, might do better now, came 10th then;

Back when there was an obligatory male rapper in the last half of every song. How retro. <3

edit: omg those lyrics in the bridge. what on earth.

You turn me on, like a colour TV  Back when sending anything with rap in it to BJSC was considered a huge risk! Example's Watch The Sun Come Up died on its arse for me months before he/it became popular!

Happy 50th BJSC! 'The Best of FSR Rontvia' released to mark the occasion

To celebrate the milestone of reaching 50 BJSC contests, one of only three nations to take part in every single one, alongside Ashton and Kylienips, a compilation album 'The Best of FSR Rontvia' will be released across the Buzzjack World on Monday 5th November, physically and digitally. The 20 tracks were chosen by a public vote which ranked the entries based on Rontvian success, general reception, originality and inspiration. Ashtonise pressings of the disc will include bonus track Smack Me by Untouched, whilst all territories will include Rontvia's yet to be revealed very special 50th entry to the contest as an iTunes bonus track. Ricardo Delta said 'it's a perfect way to celebrate this milestone, we've been there since the beginning and are very proud of a lot of our entries to the contest, we've had seven winners and fourteen top three smashes and are honoured to have been named BJSC's most successful nation overall'. The exact order of how the voting panned out will be revealed at a later date, but the CD runs in chronological order, and this is the tracklisting:

1. Delta Goodrem - Believe Again

2. Sara Bareilles - Love Song

3. Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig - Mine All Mine

4. Sanna Nielsen - Nobody Without You

5. Mira Craig - Headhunted

6. Pixie - Boys & Girls

7. The Sound of Arrows - M.A.G.I.C.

8. Blänk feat Young Ivy - I'm Going For Your Brother

9. Beautiful Small Machines - Robots In Love

10. Anna Abreu - Music Everywhere

11. Caro Emerald - A Night Like This

12. Staygold feat Spank Rock, Damien Adore & Lady Tigra - Backseat

13. Sheelah - Psycho

14. Zowie - Broken Machine

15. Sheelah - The Last Time

16. Eric Amarillio - Om Sanningen Ska Fram

17. Chart Music - All My Life

18. Lise Karlsnes - Red Hot

19. Prance Faris - Flares

20. Rae Morris - Don't Go

So many great tracks in there. :D

My personal faves include:

1. Delta Goodrem - Believe Again

2. Sara Bareilles - Love Song

3. Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig - Mine All Mine

Haha yes, didn't you discover I'm Going For Your Brother from my personal chart on CHC? :D

I sure did. :D I used to read your chart and see all these tracks thinking "what are they?". Obviously my chart has come on leaps and bounds now that I'm a fully fledged BJSCer.

Also did you enter 'Wonderful Life' by HURTS? I remember seeing that high up your chart, and it became a #1 hit for me in January 2010 - not long after I joined Buzzjack.

Haha yes, your chart is more dominated by BJSC than mine ever was (my entries aside, which tend to go top three more often than not) :o

And no, I considered sending it in December 2009 when it got to #2 in my chart but plumped for By My Side by Caroline Jonsson instead for that contest which finished 5th. Numayania sent Wonderful Life the following month and came 9th iirc.

No 'Runaway' = entire list invalid :hitler:

No, sadly not. It made the top 25 of the results though but just missed a place on the CD!

 Ashton appreciates that the anthem of life that is Smack Me appears on the Ashtonise edition.

The album has already shot to the top of the non-MKS pre-order chart.

Universale Musique in Numayania has confirmed the release of this compilation on Monday with a bonus track that was a #2 in the Numayanian Top 40 before we even joined the contest - Vincent's Miss Blue

That we did. Frankly we were robbed :smoke:
