Verona score a healthy 88 points as Batidas win in Aeroche

Czech dance act Verona have finished 16th for FSR Rontvia in BJSC LII, held in Aeroche. Fallin' In Love, a Rontvian top three smash hit, bagged 12 pointers from Numayania and Juranabaijan as well as healthy points from a number of other countries and improved on Nadine's 24th place last month by eight positions despite a number of bottom five predictions and even a last place one. Head of the RTVN, Ricardo Delta said 'a wind of change blew through BJSC this month. The pop entries came back in force, none moreso than Batidas' ballad Uncover by Zara Larsson which won the contest and Ashton's ever reliable Tone Damli who came third with the former Rontvian top ten hit Smash! We're quite satisfied with Verona's result, even though it's technically a 'flop' having finished in the bottom half of the final scoreboard, it tied on points with 15th place, which we're going to argue technically makes it a hit. Onwards and upwards once again for next month, perhaps it's time to leave the dance aside for a while but we'll see what we can come up with!'. Ricardo Delta will play more of a role than usual in BJSC LIII, having been appointed as a co-producer of the 53rd contest.

I wouldn't regard 16th as a flop at all. Bottom 7 is a flop, why else would there be a predicta question specifically asking people to predict the bottom 7 otherwise? :P

My gut feeling was that Verona wouldn't be in the bottom 7 and the track actually finished roughly where I predicted it (18th to be exact). It didn't get points from me but I don't dislike it. I was slightly put off by the synth melody. The intro music also reminds me of 'Without You' by David Guetta so it's easy to listen to a song and automatically think "this sounds like Song X".

I've always looked at only the top half of the final as a hit :P Yeah I've thought it sounds like Without You from the first listen too, I still love it though! And the synth melody is my favourite part :o

British producer Michael Woods represents FSR Rontvia with Platinum Chains!

For the 53rd edition of BJSC, which is being held in Batidas, FSR Rontvia have turned to British DJ and producer Michael Woods, behind such anthems as Warrior, Heaven Sent, Solex (Close To The Edge) and former BJSC entry We've Only Just Begun. Instrumental anthem Platinum Chains was previously only available as a full 6 minute track but it's the exclusive Rontvian Club Edit that has been entered to BJSC. The stunning dance anthem is a house/electro/trance hybrid with a killer riff and has already spent two weeks at No.1 in FSR Rontvia, holding off a strong challenge this week by another dance instrumental track, Colors by Rivaz. It is the first time ever that FSR Rontvia have sent an instrumental song to the contest, although Flares by Prance Faris (which finished 3rd in early 2012) was one for all intents and purposes but had a brief vocal on top. Ricardo Delta said '2012 saw the return of dance domination in the Rontvian charts and it's only got stronger in 2013 with hits such as Platinum Chains, Colors, Glorious, Clarity, Follow You Down, Mainline and I Could Be The One ruling the airwaves. Hopefully The Buzzjack World will like it!'

If I'd entered Luciana we'd have had a British dance double! I'm in the wrong semi to help it out but I can see this being a future top10 smash on the AshChart!

We would have done! Surprised you haven't entered that yet! I have everything crossed that it can get to the final, glad you're liking it :D

Danaelanda are very happy that Platinum Chains has been sent to BJSC and the country wishes FSR Rontvia good luck in using the entry! The song was formerly #1 in Danaelanda for 2 weeks before Duke Dumont overtook it last week.

Nice to see that you're in my semi! Yes it's had a fortnight at the top in both FSR Rontvia and Danaelanda but other countries are yet to succumb to it's euphoric charm! Hopefully this contest will change that :D

Just making a quick trip to Rontvia to express my utter DISGUST at only giving 'I Will Be Strong' a single point in BJSC 51. It is by far my most listened to track from that contest now, and I can't believe I scored it so lowly! :o How can we repay the Rontvians for this? (Luckily this was corrected to some extent when we gave Verona it's rightful 12 in 52. :P)

Just the appreciation for the amazing I Will Be Strong is enough repayment! It really deserved to do far better though!

4th place for Michael Woods!

British Dance producer Michael Woods' instrumental dance track Platinum Chains has finished an impressive 4th in BJSCLIII in Batidas, with an impressive 153 points, finishing just behind Persephonia in third, Sandeborg in 2nd and Rontvian top ten smash and 12 pointer Carli's Look Up, the winner from #00247E in what was a hugely dance dominated top end of the scoreboard. Ricardo Delta said 'this is a fantastic result, we haven't had a 4th place finish for five years when Sanna Nielsen managed it with Nobody Without You. We finished third with Flares by Prance Faris last year and it looks as if dance instrumentals have brought us more good luck this time around! The song has been a huge success in FSR Rontvia and is currently spending its third non-consecutive week at No.1! We're really pleased that it went down so well across the Buzzjack World and thank every country that voted for it! Our plans for next month are as yet unconfirmed but we're currently in talks with a number of artists'. Michael Woods, who also scored a Rontvian top 20 hit in 2003 with Solex (Close To The Edge) was said to be gobsmacked at the track's success and thanked Batidas' DJ team for creating the popular Rontvian Club Edit.

Oh was that the work of Hitstastic again? I need to send Shadeux 'Roo' next contest.

You were very close to scoring a 12 from me this contest - if you did I would have been so nailbitingly close to shooting myself in the foot. Would still be one point ahead though.

Yep! I didn't think the 6 minute original would work in the context of BJSC so tried to cut it down myself and failed spectacularly! Luckily Hits' magic touch saved the day :D

Thanks for your support, I'm quite happy with 4th as it exceeded my highest expectation for the song by about five places and you deserve a long awaited top three smash!

Gotta love Acoustica - the software I used to make these edits.

I still think my edited version is solid enough to be the official edit for radio.

'Get Up (Rattle)' = ducks

'So Good To Me' = giraffe

'Platinum Chains' = ??

So, if you were directing a music video which animal would you choose to feature? I'd say bears as they could turn the woods (get it, Michael "Woods" :D - no...ok) into a nightclub. A load of dancing bears. Well, why not?

(can't you tell I'm tired - imagine what I'd post if I were drunk  )

Bears could work! I like the idea of that video. I'd love Platinum Chains to be a future hit but Flares always had the potential to be and was never picked up and still has less than 500 hits on Youtube :( It clearly wouldn't be released as an instrumental though, but could potentially smash with a random guest star vocal over the top, a la Rattle/Bromance etc...then again Million Voices did alright for itself!

OMG Bra send our song! :o

First Italian entry for FSR Rontvia as dance instrumentals lead the way

Dance anthem Colors by Italian producer Rivaz has been annouced as FSR Rontvia's 54th BJSC entry. The instrumental trance song immediately follows last month's electro instrumental from Michael Woods, Platinum Chains finishing 4th in Batidas. Colors has been compared to trance classics of the late 90s such as 1999 and Gouryella but with a fresh production sound. The song has already been a No.1 in FSR Rontvia and in the top three for five weeks, making it a well established local success. Ricardo Delta said 'We don't usually send two similar songs in a row but Platinum Chains and Colors are very different sub-genres of dance and they certainly sound nothing alike, despite both being dance instrumentals. There was no other option this month than to send Colors, it's been a monster hit already in FSR Rontvia in our year of dance and is already in our year to date top ten! It's such a euphoric feelgood song so fingers crossed it can translate to The Buzzjack World.'

Colors finishes 3rd!

Rontvian chart topping smash hit Colors by Rivaz has finished 3rd in #00274E, improving on last month's 4th place finish achieved by fellow dance instrumental Platinum Chains by Michael Woods. This is the first time FSR Rontvia have finished in the top five twice in a row since Lykke Li's Sadness Is A Blessing won the contest the month after Sheelah's The Last Time did, back in 2011! It's also the fourth 3rd place finish for the nation, following Mine All Mine by Maria Haukaas Storeng & Mira Craig, Boys & Girls by Pixie Lott and Flares by Prance Faris, another dance instrumental, a fruitful genre for the nation with a 100% top five strike rate with the three entries sent. Ricardo Delta, head of RTVN, said 'this really is a stunning result, it's good to see FSR Rontvia get off to a promising start this year following a dreadful 2012 for the most part. These dance songs really seem to be resonating with a lot of the Buzzjack World. These two songs have been monster local hits, Platinum Chains and Colors both topping the Rontvian charts and it's great to see them both do so well'. Skall won the contest and scored six points from FSR Rontvia. Rontvia's 12 pointer from Ashton finished in 8th place and has debuted inside the national charts at #17 this week! Colors is down a place to No.3 on its seventh straight week in the top three just behind fellow dance acts Cascada and Avicii at No.1 and No.2.

It's amongst some of the best Rontvian entries ever there! Great to see Envole Moi in the charts! Must be the first time an Ashtonise discovery has charted in quite a while!
