  1. Ciint Eastwood, a classic in both the original and Ed Case remix versions.
  2. Mya, but DJ Pied Piper was a school break time classic.
  3. Ok, I've input everything I have so far and there would certainly be some shocking results in there if things don't change. But I'm still awaiting 11 votes in Semi 1 and 10 in Semi 2, so they surely will. Support your faves, and vote by 2pm please or you'll get a third knocked off your score. Then join me tomorrow evening to find out who made it through (time TBC).
  4. It's a nice compilation, one of the better ones from Now. I bought the CD when it came out and my friend recently gave me the vinyl as an early Christmas present.
  5. Reminders time. You all have until 2pm GMT tomorrow. No votes will be accepted after this and 33% deductions will be applied. Semi 1: @jakee @Lindsey. @Jade @Colm @Mack. @J00prstar @Freeze @Miri @Calum @!!! @dhwe @Silas Semi 2: @jakee @dancember @awardinary @Klumzee @Harve @Chez Wombat @Roba. @RabbitFurCoat @*Tim @Jacob- @diva thin muffin @seven. @jimwatts @RobBot @Cody Piastri
  6. I didn’t expect Alexa to be so generous. Big leap for Kylie this week compared to Tom Grennan on the same week last year.
  7. I've finally voted too. Semi 1 was decent and I happily could have voted for 15 songs but only have one major commiseration. But Semi 2...yeah, even with the loss of what would have been my 12 pointer this was a bloodbath. 14 songs I really love and another 10 I enjoy a lot beyond that. Gutted to have to leave loads of those out.
  8. I always thought the first nul pointer would be something non-descript, rather than something by a country like Trifoski whose entries are polarising but always entertaining. Sending a b-side or album filler by some 90s middle of the road artist like Michael Bolton etc in a competitive semi could do it but I don't think anyone would dare.
  9. 22 of 59 votes in now, looks like some songs in both semis have reached the Q zone already! All votes due in by 2pm tomorrow please.
  10. I’ve felt quite icky about Eurovision for the last two years. Liverpool was amazing in 2023 and a great last hurrah for Eurovision - the contest as I knew it and that I loved dearly for 25 years. But actual Eurovision week and particularly the final has been completely marred by Israel for two years and while I’ve loved national final season as usual, the contest itself has felt different - darker and less joyous. I’m upset but not surprised at what has happened today. Israel will no doubt win with a huge swell of support from those that back them and things will get even worse. Melodifestivalen and Sanremo are national institutions and will carry on regardless just without Eurovision as the prize. And I will continue to follow them, particularly the former which I love more than Eurovision in many ways and really enjoy going to watch live when I get the chance. I wouldn’t blame a national final winner for backing out of Eurovision though - it definitely isn’t a good look to be affiliated with the brand right now. A dark day for the contest, very sad.
  11. With the above in mind, Semi 2 finalists may resume voting. Due to the fact that you haven't been able to vote for a day, as my schedule doesn't allow me to delay the dates easily, I will accept ALL votes for BOTH semis up to 2pm GMT on Saturday 6th December with no penalty. Results are still scheduled to follow on Saturday evening. Hopefully the extra 14 hours helps people. No further votes will be accepted past this point and nations who fail to vote will have their score deducted by 33%. I'll update the opening post with the new deadline.
  12. Update from the mods: Bøtanikkä will not submit votes for this contest but will not be banned from BJSC 181. The song will be removed from consideration for voting in the semi-final and any countries who have already voted for it will be contacted and asked to amend their votes. It will still remain on the 'Songs of BJSC' list, in line with precedent set by previously disqualified entries, and thus will not be eligible to be sent again in the future. It will be marked as 'WD' (withdrawn). FARC will remain an auto-qualifier and semi-final 2 will still have 20 qualifiers as planned.
  13. I could make a David Sylvian Greatest Flops album with all the songs he inexplicably has on the Yearbooks. Surely somebody must proof the tracklist and say 'Rain Tree Crow, who put that on here? Oh it's Sylvian again, can you please stop'.
  14. Lots of stuff I'm happy to see, like Praise, Cathy Dennis, Kim Appleby and Take That, with Monty Python a fun last track novelty. Ouch at the Dannii typo. What are the main ommissions for 1991 then? Bryan Adams, Simpsons, Right Said Fred, 2 Unlimited and the absence of the Christmas No.1 with no These Are The Days Of Our Lives.
