might be making my return... thinking about sending a song from a very recent album (as in 1 day old), or failing that, a pop-punk banger from a good filipino sis (but might leave that to @LexC)

Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
His views being: black people were better off under slavery, gay people being stoned to death is justifiable, trans people should be removed from public life, palestinians are responsible for their own suffering. he may have fallen short of calling for public executions (that i am aware of) but to say that he played no part in his demise by espousing viewpoints that are definitionally “violent” is laughable. he was one of the top figures responsible for sowing the culture of political violence in this country, and the problem with political violence is… it isn’t just your side holding the gun. and i think one of the biggest tragedies is actually what you mention as “agreeing to disagree” and “playing with ideas”. his ideas were ones that any sensible person disagreed with by 2008. he lent credibility to them by opening them up for debate, and now in 2025 the Overton window has fallen so far to the right it’s practically falling off the face of the earth. he was the embodiment of regression. an absolute cretin, and its only a shame there’s like 200 more like him with huge platforms still walking around

I've been using tapmusic for this to post on my insta story, here's my august: https://www.last.fm/user/gamerpeepinpaNG- Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
what is "working class relatability" to you? walking out on the street in ratty clothes carrying a bindle? "working class" =/= abject poverty lmfao. it's "normal and standard" precisely bc the vast majority of people are working class. and yeah a part time barista working for a college degree is working class. many working class people get or have degrees, not without enormous sacrifice on their part. the people most invested in claiming otherwise are usually Peter thiel culture war types who resent higher education as a bastion of wokeness.- Trump: Folie à Deux (US Politics Thread)
50k-100k is not upper middle class even outside of NY. that’s like public school teachers and librarians and postal workers. unless you have a Peter thiel “you’re only working class when you grunt and hit things with a wrench (even though plumbers can make over 100k)” view of labor, then yeah alright.- culturally SIGNIFICANT moments in the 21st century
was prepared to write an essay about how the 2009 vmas were the beginning of 2010s pop culture (gaga debut performance, Kanye v Taylor) but I'll just post this instead QczfPUYmsAA- Live Thread - 2024 United States Presidential Election

I don't really think it's looking good in pa btw, just looking at my county. went for biden by a hair, now down 5 for Harris in PA with 88%. this county is usually a bellwether for the state and the rest of the country, I don't think she'll be down 5 in the rest of the state but she'll either lose by a point or two or barely eke out a win by like less than half a percentage point thanks to whatever's left of Philly and the burbs. grain of salt im kind of drunk and nowhere near an analyst, just vibes- Live Thread - 2024 United States Presidential Election
it's looking grim but I do feel more zen than I did at this point in 2016. it could get really really bad but. we've been here before - Your Last.fm Album Collages
