OPINION POLLS 2024-2029
Nandy has got to be one of the biggest pieces of shit in Westminster. Not hard now that the public has had a bit of a Tory c**t clear out, but she was fairly high up the self serving c**t list in the last parliament too. Reeves has a thankless task trying to clear up the Tories mess in a post-Liz truss world. Lizzie f***ed up so bad that Reeves is fighting a world war on her own armed with a pasta pot meal deal spork thatās already snapped in half and the moulding lettuce that outlasted truss in office. Sheās operating under such tight margins itās really a thankless task. Iād like to see a more progressive approach to income tax and removing some exemptions and strengthening things like CGT. A tax on non-Dom empty homes that weee bought by shell companies to launder illgotten gains would also be nice. Letās start at a 15% levy on the value of the house that rises by 15% for every year itās been empty since purchased. Add a zero to both of those numbers if youāre under UK sanctions and split the cash 50/50 between the public purse and the UKs support for Ukraine.

The Official Labour Calmer Steering Thread (mk III)
If it is a complex transaction and circumstances then it could be that sheās simply taking a pro-fiscal position and not fighting a judgment from HMRC that interprets the law in a different way to how the advisor did. Happens daily and the optics of her fighting it at a tribunal are far worse than her saying she didnāt pay a full tax liability on a transaction she was advised on. And HMRC it should be noted is not infallible. Theyāre quite often incorrect in the application of tax law. HMRC vs McVities in the Jaffa Cake VAT tribunal being a rather famous example of HMRC being unable to understand the law. Tax law is complex in ways that the general public really do not even begin to understand. I would assume sheās fallen foul of some CGT rules, quite often the case when second homes are involved especially if sheād previously lived at the address as her primary residence. Thereās a reason Tax Consulting is such a big and recession proof industry.

I would assume the three that abstained did so to avoid the optics of voting no to proscribe two neo nazi parties. Theres devolved elections next year, we donāt want to be leaving such an open goal for the unionists to walk through. Plaid are vitally important for shutting Reform out of power in Wales and the Scottish media will use any minor opportunity to cry SNP bad. For all three parties it works out better as they are either in power, have the potential to be or potential to be king makers and no one wants a ātell us about that time you voted against banning a neo nazi party and how that means the public can sleep safelyā

Mutya is a RPDR UK guest judge!
Iconic legend!!!! Split into its own topic as itās more than worthy Defo a good fit. Sheāll finally have the shortest nails in the room. All three have been great Allies but Mutya has put in the WERK during the Sugababes wilderness years by appearing on every stage at pride or a gay bar thatād have her
