Yes it was 'Twilight' I thought of. I do remember it reaching #1 but forgot about it pretty quickly afterwards, and have only been reminded of it by #1 marathons and the like. It's not a bad song but the production sounds very of its time. Amanda Reifer did however return to the Top 10, and some prominence, as the guest vocalist on Kendrick Lamar's 'Die Hard' in 2022. Nice to see the Justice Collective nearing mid table, a very thoughtfully put together version in not only the names involved but the performances, with none of the oversinging or schmaltzy production some other charity ensemble singles have had.

'Dai Dai' must be further ahead on iTunes than I thought - with that sending data a day ahead of most of the streaming services, I can see how the gap has narrowed.

I thought Frank Zappa had some Czech or Slovak connections, but turns out he was only an ambassador for Czechoslovakia and was born in the US. Hadn't realised he had a charting single before though - 'Cheap Thrills' made #83 posthumously in 1998!

No great losses from the top 30 so far. The two Rita Ora #1s feel very much of their time - 'R.I.P.' felt like a very measured coverage of bases, and 'How We Do (Party)' is bang on the lyrical clichéd trend - I believe the "party and bullshit" hook dates back to The Last Poets' 'When The Revolution Comes' from 1970, but the radio edit here is quite jarring. 'Young' has one of the better productions so far, but I can't get on board with Tulisa's strained vocals. I found 'Domino' annoying even for a couple of listens a week (how can every second be a highlight...), so can only imagine how I'd feel being subjected to it multiple times a day through radio at work. 'Let Me Love You...' felt like an unwieldy title (clearly to distinguish it from the Mario song Ne-Yo also wrote) for a fairly mundane hit, if not as objectionable for me as some of these. 'Little Things' I don't mind too much - it has clear hallmarks of Ed Sheeran's songwriting, and the "cup of tea" line is unintentionally funny, but it's a nice song, though not really in keeping with One Direction's usual sound which probably lends to its awkwardness.

Some very strong batches just gone. Like most people I knew the Beats International version of 'Just Be Good To Me' first, but the original is strong too. 'Dr Mabuse' was the weekly poll winner from the last 3 batches, great to see something so leftfield do so. I hadn't sought Bob Marley's original version of 'One Love' until you mentioned it, agree the medley with 'People Get Ready' improves it and it's one of his most joyous songs. 'Pearly-Dewdrops' Drops' is such an unusual sounding hit for the time and you can hear its later influences. 'The Reflex' is gloriously 80s, those vocal inflexions flow so well, and 'Somebody Else's Guy' is a masterclass of a vocal. Absolutely agree with the top two from the last batch - 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' is a fantastic song with a powerful concept, and 'Love Wars' is fabulous, the toughened electronic soul carries the subtle weight of the lyrics.

Updated everything - clearly 'Rein Me In' equalling the record for weeks at #1 is the big story. Elsewhere, as this is buried on page 2: 'Die With A Smile' at #31 gains its 30th different Top 40 position - only the seventh song to do so, and on its 51st Top 40 week, considerably fewer than the 6 songs ahead of it have had. 'Ordinary' will almost certainly become the eighth soon - this week's #20 is its 28th new Top 40 position, including every one from #7 to #27 'Beautiful Things' at #74 gains its 58th different Top 75 position, putting it joint second with 'Perfect', but still 7 behind 'Someone You Loved' 'Dreams' at #73 gains its 67th different Top 100 position, moving it into the top 10 for positions covered, despite its recent #18 peak being its only week in the Top 20. On a similar note, 'Mr Brightside' is only 1 position behind on 66, and even if it doesn't climb from this week's #37, it could still claim any of #39, #40, #41 or #44 to draw level
