  1. I fight you x
  2. Can you just reveal blacksquare's entry now? The rest can wait x
  3. Anyhoo - the top end of the scoreboard did drift a bit from my tastes by the end and I only voted for 4 of the top 10 but it has ultimately ended up feeling like a pretty nice genre balance. Happy with Aeroche returning to big hit status after exiting their generic era, Fljótavík pulling the same trick as République d'Áskorza did last month for me with their host entry actually getting points from me and getting a solid mid top 10 result and very pleased that Kathaldazia did just about squeak out a top 10, although would have been a fave for me taking up at least one of those last two top 10 spots almost no matter what it seems as the 11-15 section is packed full of bangers, all of them making my own top 10! Aw at Danæviia ending up missing the top 10 as I'm sure they were in there for quite a lot of the reveal, but still a pretty decent result for them in the end, also probably better results than I'd have predicted for Cumulonimbia and Elëdan. Utopia's sounded very Neliönoir-y to my ears so I had kind of hoped it was heading for a dark horse top 10 but not quite in the end! Also yay for a pretty solid midtable for Flynnonda (and seems I never needed to be worrying about it DNQing...!), then another little patch of my faves in the 26-30 section which I'd have liked to see doing better but can see why they didn't do so. Bottom 10 and sub 100 points definitely feels undeserved for Bronzil this time (even if I didn't help out much by contributing again to their ongoing small points issue whoops x) and it is a shame that Suedeonia came last but was still a charming presence in the final - it actually jumped up to my 2 points from just outside my top 10 on my relisten of semi 2 which I see was responsible for costing Bøtanikkä a spot in the final, sorry Addy and I'd have been missing out by only 2 points instead of 4. ...and I've just realised that I accidentally closed my spreadsheet without saving changes after adding all the votes in to double check the final scoreboard so I'm going to have to redo the whole thing before posting the new YTD update oops! Think that's my cue to go to bed rather than stay up any later working on spreadsheet stuff, I'll aim to redo that and get the YTD up tomorrow evening (not that there's much tension over who's going to be #1 ) ((and here's fair warning that I will delete any ragebait replies from Cody so please try to be normal x))
  4. ^ per my correction post just now, Julia Fox does get you a new position after all
  5. Have double checked the scoreboard and just the one correction... which shakes up the top 3 ...in opposite world that is, it's the bottom 3 that it affects. Skall's 11 should be to Suedeonia rather than Thelonia, still not enough for Ducks Ltd. to escape last place sadly but it does bring them a good bit closer to the pack. Thelonia drop 2 places to 40th, Mothertopia and Herbilore up a place each to 38th and 39th respectively. All other points and positions match with the image version of the final scoreboard although noting that the Taahino/Cheiron tiebreak should be the other way round in the table version! All the tiebreaks for posterity: Fljótavík beat Cor Lupus (25 votes each, 2 18s to 1) Kathaldazia beat New Lexico (25 votes to 22) Cumulonimbia beat Utopia (25 votes to 19) Taahino beat Cheiron (17 votes each, 1 18 to 0) Trifoski beat Zanmatony (20 votes to 18) Lotunia beat Land of DW (20 votes to 16)
  6. 12 out of 17 votes for Avery Cochrane being medal positions is pretty crazy...! Had not realised just how all or nothing that was proving and definitely not what I'd have predicted, it's odd to think that a song that sounds like it could be a mainstream hit (maybe moreso in 2010 than now but still) ended up smashing into the top 5 via very focused niche votes rather than wide appeal.
  7. ...and further mixed feelings with this now being the 2nd contest in the last 3 where a major fave of mine has finished 2nd! (Arguably a third in a row as I gave MISS LUXURY double digit points too). At least this time it wasn't as heartbreakingly close as f5ve. So thrilled to see 'Korku' doing so well anyway even if the early lead was too good to be true, I do predictably always stan entries in this style but even by that standard this one did strike me immediately as a potential all-timer so very happy to see it connecting strongly with so many others as well, also love to see it for such an obscure artist, I think I am actually going to drop a few pennies on an iTunes download for the song if for no other reason than I am a little concerned at the possibility of it becoming lost media at some point! (will comment further on results after I've dusted off my calculator so as ever no one be celebrating their exact position too hard just yet x)
  8. Well done blacksquare, welcome to the 2 wins club (and I'm sure you'll join many others who have matched and then surpassed me while I remain stuck there x) Me going 7 for 7 on snubbing the winners this year, it's almost impressive at this point! This one does join ALT BLK ERA and Ninajirachi in at least being near misses for me though (ranking those 16th and 17th respectively vs. 18th for 'storm') so it's among the better winners of the year for sure. But it's also yet another winner that's a recycle of an artist who had a recent top 10 hit that I liked considerably more. As I said, mixed feelings xx (my post from earlier in the thread still stands, we demand Neliönoir hosting 2.0 x)
  9. I thought it seemed odd that Avery Cochrane appeared to have peaked at a time when the top 10 was otherwise looking overwhelmingly alt leaning - I see her having a late renaissance now x
  10. I wouldn't be opposed to a cheeky sim0ne win if there's enough runway for her to make up the gap x
  11. I will be forcing blacksquare to host again if he wins btw
  12. Hmm this is very much trending towards Night Tapes now it seems! I have mixed feelings about that prospect x
  13. As far as pure pop winners go I'd be fairly happy with Avery Cochrane if it is just that we're frontloading the more alt voters - sounds like a Katy Perry song from the era where she was good for a guilty pleasure x
  14. Oh I don't hold Jafet to the same standard
  15. I have questions for Pavita and Frank xx
