Welcome to the 32nd edition of BJSC held for the fifth time here in FSR Rontvia. My name's Sanna Nielsen and I'll be guiding you through proceedings here at the wonderful stage outside the new Emerald Mall. One of the biggest seen to date, it makes past Rontvian venues seem like an empty room! Many thanks, for a second time, to Sheelah who brought proceedings back to our nation, they have huge devotion to the contest and will doubtless be back in the future! Now for the important bits, which you must all pay close attention to. The scoring system has reverted back to the old way. So you will now award your top song 12 points, followed by 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point for your tenth favourite song. Therefore, you will not be voting for a whopping 23 songs, so make sure that you allocate your points wisely - it could be a close one and every vote will matter! Remember, the winners would be nobody without you! PM your votes, as usual to the host (gooddelta), and do not reveal who you have voted for in here or anywhere else!

You have from now until Monday March 14th at 11.59pm (GMT) to submit your votes, that's very close to two weeks you lucky people! Therefore, any votes sent after this lengthy deadline will NOT be accepted, you've got more than enough time, and the RTVN will not budge on this matter. The deduction for those who fail to vote will be 33%. The results will be two weeks from today, Tuesday March 15th and should start at 7pm. If any of these details change, you will know immediately. We also have for you the full MP3 pack (PM gooddelta if you would like the link), and a recap video, making its welcome return this month!

So, ready, set, GO! Start listening, start voting, and enjoy the contest! Vågar Du, Vågar Jag!

Just in case you didn't want to read all of the blurb above, I reiterate that I have the MP3 pack done and ready to go, just PM me if/when you want the link!

too many comebacks and well known artists this time (inc. mine).

The longer the contest goes on, the more likelihood there is of artists returning I guess, particularly when people come back with new era's. It doesn't really bother me as long as the entry isn't uninspired - it's a song contest rather than an artist contest. I've had a good listen through everything (I had to to make the recap vid!) and the types of entries here this month are a lot more varied than last month, but the quality isn't necessarily as high overall - it's all subjective to individual music tastes anyway. If you hate female Scandi/electro-pop, last month would have been an absolute nightmare

A lot more songs for me to listen to this time round, including my own there are only 6 entries I've actually heard. Considering how last minute things were for me last time I suppose I should probably start fairly soon.
Mine is a [well] known name, mine is a recycled artist - will many have heard of it/is it very inspired? IMO it is, it's not exactly the thing Buzzjack love..
Brooke Fraser! Not sure I'd have chosen Flags though, there are way better on the album! SIAB is probably my fave on Wounded Rhymes, great choice Rich! Only 4 or 5 I've actually heard of, the rest are new discoveries!!!
Oh and can I have the link please?
Link please Rich! Thanks!

Glad you approve, I find it so anthemic  I know people will always have different favourite album tracks, which makes it a bit of a risk sending them, but I heard a gorgeous acoustic version of this song first and then fell in love with the studio version instantly, so good! Plus I figured that out of the 34 of us here, maybe 3 or 4 max will have heard the Lykke Li album, more's the pity.

ohhh and 33 songs and vote only for 10

Why not go with the semis and have a 25 songs in final?

I was instructed not to do semis unless it went to 40 or over, which it was nowhere near! We used to regularly use the 12 point system on 30 song finals so it's not hugely different, but if we'd had say 39 entries, then I would have had a problem with it. It will make it far harder to vote but I guess the results may be a lot closer/more tense. Although it wasn't my decision to bring the old points system back for the record!

Doing semis to knock a small handful of songs out probably wouldn't go down too well once I trialled it in BJSCV, by knocking three songs out :heehee:

Linkage pls, no hurry in your own time.

I'm surprised at Yadi been picked for the contest, I heard that many months ago, and I have completely gone off it now.

Lorikeet FTW

:heehee: those were the days

and roger that...looks like we are going to have a '3 points only between the winner and runner-up' contest :D.

I was considering many of her songs, but I was touched by this one on the first listen and did start to cry. So I wanted to share it with everyone, regardless of how well it does. But doesn't mean I don't want to do well! :kink:
