No ... I agree with you! Having said that ... there was one odd little bit in Rob's performance. At one point he shouted for the audience to 'come on' or something ... and you could still hear him singing. Other than that I thought his performance was OK. And I think he'll at least catch up with Alex if not take over. I doubt that huge gap will remain there for long.

Norma

I agree loads with the last part. he will definetely catch up to her. later on in the week perhaps.

People on here are soooo funny! He has NO chance of overtaking whatsoever! Granted at the end of week the lead will probably be 2:1, instead of like 3:1 like now. His sales will drop too by Friday....people seem to love to doubt Alex!

@Vickers, who's single do you think the shops will have more of....an XFactor star (who will obviously sell a tonne) or Robbie.....even TT only sold 9k of their physical in their first week...let alone this crap!

Besides ... he may have a few other songs in the top 75 next week - Angels and No Regrets are well inside the top 100 iTunes.

I doubt Rob will be crying into his Nescafe! Or Red Bull! Or whatever is his latest tipple!

Norma

Just checkig Itunes, whilst the gap is still HUGE, Robbie has pulled slightly away from Chippy - plus remember his 2nd version in the top 20 will benefit him greatly

SIA was the third single from an already oversubscribed album ... this is Rob's debut from a brand new album ... I think you'll find his physicals are much higher than 9K.

Norma

Robbie's physicals will be higher than Alex's I think that's a given IMO.

The Greatest Day had physical sales of 9,200 Norma, sorry! <_<

Robbie wont do much...most will wait for his album!.

Really? I thought they'd done a bit more than that. I suppose Take That's fans must be more digitally aware than Rob fans then! I thought we were just middle-aged old housewives who still mourned for the loss of the 'stereogram' and the old '78s'

Norma

Sorry - another thing! But does Alexandra have a 'b' side to her single. I'd heard Rob didn't (or at least nothing new - a remix of something or other). And would that be likely to make a diffference?

Norma

She does, it's called "Dangerous"

hmm.. the winner of a talent show who was only known for 1 year or a man who's been famous for well over 10 years.

I know who I'd chose.

Agreed  Plus the GH is #3 on Itunes atm.

If he remains at #2 with strong sales I will be happy. Afterall it is #1 all over Europe, in Germany in particiular by a huge margin. Regarding his performance, he was obviously extremly nervous which is why the vocals were not great, not to mention the fact Bodies is a hard song to sing live as the verses are more speaking. I really enjoyed the performance, he put on a great show and seemed genuinly delighted with the responce.

You are right about B-sides. Alot of his fans wont be buying the phyiscal as it only has a remix on it which does not interest them. His B-sides are often better than the actual single so it is very annoying, but I suppose most acts dont do B-sides anymore sadly -_-

There is no question that Robbie will top the physical chart this week. Record stores aren't thinking about who is most popular, they are thinking about who the artists appeal to. Robbie's market is made up of those less likely to download, and because he has been around to long, he has fans who like to collect all his physical releases. Alexandra's market is made up of those who download music every week, and rarely buy physicals.

It doesn't make any difference though, Alexandra probably has it wrapped up with the downloads - :( - I still can't believe they released 'Bad Boys' instead of some of the great material on her album!

Agreed  Plus the GH is #3 on Itunes atm.

At least he didn't do a Britney and mime from start to finish. Mind you ... they're all right about his dancing ... he's even worse than Gary!

BTW - TT always have a 'b' side and I'm quite certain they're not the only ones. I think it was a bit lazy of Rob not to have one on this ... if only for his fans.

Whatever happens, Robbie's album will be HUGE.

I use to think that but I don't think that now... only 2-3 albums of a year become 1 miliion or more seller, it's not the early 00's or even the 90'.

I agree with that ... I'd say if not past 2 million, then very, very close to it by Christmas.

Night everyone ... I'm off to bed ... so depressed with tonight's episode of Harper's Island - my favourite character 'got the axe'.

Just coz it won't necessarily hit the 1 million mark doesn't mean it won't be "huge" ;)

The way Gary meant it, I think he meant massive opening week sales and a consistent seller/chart position.

2 MILLIONS? to remind you which year where living? 1 will be more than anyone predict right now.

But HUGE is also a big overall Seller of course.
