Posted October 10, 200915 yr seeing as her artist forum is as good as dead, with nobody ever visiting it, here seems a more appropriate place to post... anyway, I got her 2009 live tour DVD and it completely reminded me why she's my favourite artist of the decade  so utterly underrated in every way in the UK, I'm still in shock that she didn't release her 2007 third album 'Delta' in the UK, probably because of the whole Brian/Kerry/Delta-gate, although I expect she's been forgiven for her 'part' in this now that Peter and Katie are now Britain's favourite tabloid darlings...I know she (somehow) managed 5 top ten hits here, but still the average person on the street only knows her thanks to Brian and Kerry :( seriously though, In This Life and Believe Again were just as good as anything she'd done before, the latter in fact defining the term epic  I would absolutely LOVE the chance to see her live, but I'm not about to fly over to Australia just for the occasion and I highly doubt she'll come back here any time soon :( am I alone in my adoration for this woman? all three of her albums are stunning and she's yet to ever record a song I don't like, in fact I absolutely LOVE 95% of everything she touches, hence my username which I will never change :P
October 10, 200915 yr The trailer for the tour DVD looks sensational. Delta was by far her best album - the first with any real personality imo. Contrary to the opinion of just about every fan out there, I don't like Mistaken Identity at all. I don't even like Electric Storm! But everything on Delta was great, especially Believe Again which is definitely one of the songs of the decade (and let's not forget that incredible/ridiculous video). In summary, she's immense. Surely new material can't be far off now?
October 10, 200915 yr Author apparently she's writing and recording a 4th album due for 2010 release, not that she'll ever release it here officially :( I loved Mistaken Identity, every track on it is amazing to me with the exception of Miscommunication Delta is a bit patchy, cheesy in places (Woman etc...) but when it's good, it's exceptional, Believe Again is indeed one of the songs of the decade, the best non-Disney, Disney sounding epic pop song that must exist...the DVD really is great, aside from the bits with Brian McFadden (his entire support set is included as an extra on the disc :puke:). There is a mash up of Predictable with Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams which is absolutely fantastic, works really well in my opinion, and the setlist is perfect too aside from the three albums though, practically every non-album track/single that she has released is absolutely excellent too, I could but won't start listing them but quality wise she was leagues ahead of her contemporaries in 2003
October 10, 200915 yr I have both of her first two albums, I do love her and always have. Innocent Eyes is good but has its fair share of fillers, Mistaken Identity is by far the best. The singles were all SO wrong from that album. Delta had about 5 or 6 good songs...

I was probably alone but I absolutely love Out Of The Blue and Almost Here, didn't think A Little Too Late was as good though... I think the album was all a bit dark to have any decent radio singles, all of the songs worked for me, just not as 'hit' singles...she definitely picked the most radio friendly songs to release, they just didn't represent the album as a whole at all :(
October 11, 200915 yr "Innocent Eyes" the album was amazing at the time, not a bad song on it. Can't say i've really paid any attention to her since her second album though.

'Mistaken Identity' should have got a UK release too...
October 11, 200915 yr Author 'Last Night On Earth' and 'Electric Storm' were blatant singles if ever I heard any, moreso than the ones that got chosen. 'Mistaken Identity' should have got a UK release too... they wouldn't have got much support I don't think, poor Mistaken Identity flopped in at #7 in Australia after all those consecutive #1's :( apparently people didn't like the 'dark Delta' and Mistaken Identity was the poppiest of those three songs, I expect they all would have flopped here...granted Out Of The Blue was an odd choice of lead single, but Almost Here was as good a 'hit single' as she had on there, shame it narrowly missed out on #1 to Eminem and some Elvis re-issue :(
October 11, 200915 yr I've loved her music ever since she first appeared on GMTV right at the beginning of 2003, and was impressed by how nice she was. Born To Try was a great first single. It's a great pity her last album was never released here. I saw it on import once but it was nearly £20 so didn't buy it.

October 11, 200915 yr I'm still upset Born To Try wasn't the X-Factor winners single last year! Was that just a completely falsified rumour, or was there any truth to it?
October 11, 200915 yr I'm still upset Born To Try wasn't the X-Factor winners single last year! Was that just a completely falsified rumour, or was there any truth to it? I'm glad it wasn't. It belongs to Delta.
October 11, 200915 yr Believe Again is the greatest non-SugaBallad ever. I got all Delta's albums in Aus an have the DVD in the Post, the posties better not delay it! I love Delta. And Believe Again
October 11, 200915 yr I have been waiting and waiting for Believe Again to be released over here, but I don't think that's going to happen is it :(
October 12, 200915 yr It's Pocketful Of Sunshine all over again (except Believe Again would probably not have found a home on the Radio 1 playlist) :(
October 12, 200915 yr She had an amazing voice, but in retrospect all her singles were either bland or too sickly/cheesy. I really don't think she'd be successful if she tried to relaunch her career in the UK tbh... the ONLY reason she was successful at first was because of Neighbours. Seriously, the way she promoted her stuff when she was first starting was shameless: at one point, she performed Born To Try on the show at least twice a week (I refuse to believe that was 7 years ago btw). So the only way I can really see her being successful is if she returned to Neighbours... which I find unlikely, given I think pretty much all the characters that were on the show at the same time as her are long gone, so it would be hard to make it convincing.
