Forever is over would have done a lot better if radio had backed it more.

I'd much rather listen to that than get sexy on the radio any day.

Foos not flopping :w00t:

Hopefully they can secure a minimum of top twenty on Sunday.

Well, Get Sexy also peaked only at #7 on the radio which is a low peak for Sugababes... I'd say both FIO and GS underperformed but still go a decent peak. :)
If it was gonna do a Get Sexy it would still be top 10 now

Exactly, my point was that it's not going to a Get Sexy and plumet by 10/13 places a week. It's going to be a more consistant seller and longer chart sitter like "Up" and "Issues", the only reason "Get Sexy" spent another week in the top 10 was because of that whole vulgar break-up scenario which everyone eventually ended up hearing, FIO didn't exactly have that type of lucky mass promo, if it wasn't for Chipmunk chav, The Sats would've been #1 and have a better-looking chart run at the same time!

^ Wrong, wrong, wrong. The week the Keisha drama went down was in the 4th week, at #15.

And oh please, Forever Is Over will be lucky to be on the charts for half the length of time Up was. Forever Is Over won't sell over 200,000 either. If it wasn't for Chipmunk, they'd have a low selling #1 and have proceeded 1-7-11 down the chart.

As a big Sats fan - how much better does it get than R1 A-list? And it still got another week on there somehow!

It's by no means their best song but IMO it's still better than GS.

Anyway here's not the place for another fan-war!

Whatever! I don't memorise the Sugababes chart runs! I was one week off, BIG WIPPY. "Get Sexy" wasn't exactly in the middle of a stampede of big new releases so had "Forever Is Over" been released earlier it would've had a much steadier chart run! A #2 single is brilliant anyway, who gives a $h!t about its chart run! That's just a bit too petty, its as if nobody's satisfied with anything. They've still had a much better debut than the Sugas have had anyway and with much more respectable chart runs.

And "oh please" how can you predict how much FIO will sell and how well it'll fair in the end against "Up". Who predicted "Issues" to be as big as it was or who predicted how long "Up" would hang around? Not many... As an example to contrast with your inaccurate prediction. FIO is better than "Up" anyway, with a better peak so what's going to stop it from outselling "Up"?

Following some very clever tricks on MS Paint, I bring you the Cheryl and Alexandra-less iTunes top 40 pop bars!

And before anyone points out that there are Alex and Cheryl, I mean their main versions currently at #1 and #2. :P

The difference being 'Up' and 'Issues' actually stabilised and held up well by this point, 'Forever Is Over' is already in freefall and it's not going to reverse the trend, especially in this busy period.

Like Get Sexy, neither was Forever Is Over released 'in the middle of a stampede of big new releases'. Get Sexy opened with 55,000, Forever Is Over somewhat less at 38,000. Get Sexy managed 3 weeks Top 10, Forever Is Over probably 2 weeks. You were making claims that it's doing better than Get Sexy, or that it will do better than Get Sexy - when things are being pointed out that it's not so far, simply. :P

Forever Is Over has already declined 2-8-12. The consistency of Up or Issues isn't there, so this suggests FIO is likely not going to replicate their weeks or sales. I sincerely doubt Forever Is Over is going to sell 300,000, which is about where Up is at. Just Can't Get Enough went 2-3-4 and is on about 240,000, less than Up despite the higher peak. I predict FIO will do about 150,000 by the end of its chart life, we'll see.

Interesting to see pop bars without Cheryl/Alex (bit misleading to alter the numbers though). Young Soul Rebels still behind Robbie by quite a bit. :(

I see your point. Well, I guess I'm just an OTT fan desperately wanting their favourite group to have and gain maximum success. FIO is my favourite Sats single at the moment, it's achieved a superb peak but the sales and chart run is far off from what it deserves to be! I really hope some miracle happens to steady the freefall and seeing one of my least favourite songs of the year (Get Sexy) bettering the efforts of my favourite song of the year is extremely agrovating. I just think the Sugababes have had a spot-on release strategy where the Sats have had the most ridiculously disasterous of ones. The 2-8-12 chart runs are extremely common with all the girlgroups though, just the occasional long sitter here and there. Eg - About You Now, The Promise, Up.

It used to be back in the physicals days but long and sustained chart runs become more of a fixture in the download era.

Not necessarily, there were lengthy charters before the download era - All Saints, Spice Girls. And the likes of If This Is Love, Untouchable, Sexy No No No, I Think We're Alone Now, Easy, No Can Do, Change, Denial, Say It etc etc aren't exactly sustained chart runs, the established and indie rock acts really struggle in that aspect in the download era so it actually only applies in some cases and in other cases the physical and download eras are still in close contrast.
