I want Danyl to go but I have a feeling it'll be Olly/Stacey (my two faves-especially Stacey!). Joe was good but I agree with most of you-just boring. There have been standout weeks for him but the last couple just feel samey.

I can't be bothered to rank the performances because to be honest tonight bored me.

This.

Tbh I can't see any of them making an impact other than selling a few copies of a covers album in March. I suppose at least Joe has a chance of keeping a regional profile/career going.

Like I will always judge Purple Rain by Ruth Lorenzo standards I judge Man In The Mirror by Diana Vickers standards, it set the benchmark for me and was probably the 2nd best song of the series for me after Purple Rain and I judged Danyl against Diana and for me while it was ok it just did nothing for me, first 1/3 of the song I could barely hear what he was saying it was like he was eating while singing but it did improve

I just find Danyl dull, he does nothing for me, he is not a bad singer in the bad sense but he is not a Seal he is not a Lemar, he is not an Alexander O Neal etc etc he is just an ok singer and thats as far as it goes for me

Well, Diana's performance was good, but I think he put a different spin on it to her. I agree that it didn't start off so great but, once he got into it, I thought it was really quite entertaining and an enjoyable performance.

I do sort of see your point, I don't think he's the sort of artist that'd ever be huge without this show. I think what I liked about "Man In The Mirror" was that it showed the sort of performer I think Danyl should have been all along. I don't think the ballads suit him as much as this song did. People say Olly is the one like Jamiroquai, but I think it'd suit Danyl much more. I'd love to hear him record something with a funky edge. A bit like this Nate James song:

Nate James - Universal

or if we're keeping the theme of them covering a song that was only a hit earlier in the year, am I the only one who thinks Danyl would do a decent job of this song, by someone of the same name?:

Daniel Merriweather - Change

I loved Staceys 2nd song and im hpooing i twas nough to bring her into the final, im hoping stacey and joe deginitly go through and i hope ollie is third, but its hard enough to call a this stage.

My thoughts:

Olly Murs - 'Can You Feel It' 7.0

A good but not great performance of the Jacksons classic. A great performance, but I feel that his spark from earlier in the contest has gone out.

Joe McElderry - 'She's Out Of My Life' 8.5

I hate this MJ song, but Joe's Musical style voice is a Rolls Royce in this contest as yet again he delivers a great vocal performance that you have no concerns will fall down.

Stacey Solomon - 'The Way You Make Me Feel' 5.5

Oh dear, oh dear. Dannii what have you done you fool, you have listened to Stacey's detractors and fallen into the trap of giving her an uptempo song that hides her strengths and shows up her limitations. A not bad vocal performance, but totally distracted by watching her concentrate on the choreography made that uncomfortable viewing. In real trouble now.

Danyl Johnson - 'Man In The Mirror' 9.0

Bloody typical, just when I had my pen sharpened to attack his misplaced arrogance to take on a song that in the last series was nailed by Diana Vickers, the Ego delivers his best performance of the series to for the first time justify Simon Cowell's ludicrous hyperbole. But  at the images behind him performing that belong to The Earth Song not Man In The Middle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Olly Murs - 'We Can Work It Out' 7.0

A great vocal performance, but deducted two points for the dad dancing. You are not Justin Timberlake, James Brown, Usher or Michael Jackson so don't try it. And what the F at Simon Cowell calling this Beatles transatlantic 1965 Xmas #1 hit penned by Paul McCartney a Stevie Wonder song. :hithead: (Hopes MacCa has had second thoughts on appearing on the Series finale and has pulled out). As for Louie Walsh calling a single that sold 8 million worldwide an unknown song = "Oirish Ediot".

Joe McElderry - 'Open Arms' 8.5

A class act, a class vocal. As for Simon Cowell calling Journey's 6 weeks at USA#2 in 1982 hit, that was taken to UK#4 in 1996 by Mariah Carey an unknown song...

Stacey Solomon - 'Somewhere' 9.5

Thank goodness she nailed it (bar the penultimate note). Stacey back doing what she does best. But I've just clocked on who she reminds me of when she talks ..... "Yeaaaahhhh, Rat fans ... it's Roland Rat Superstar innit".

Danyl Johnson - 'I Have Nothing' 6.5

A strange song choice, that leaves him back open to ridicule. However, his vocals were again on song on this track. Simon Cowell's ridiculous hyperbole about this performance has done him no favours especially following the previous two performers.

Overall:

Joe 8.5+8.5 = 17.0

Danyl 9.0+6.5 = 15.5

Stacey 5.5+9.5 = 15.0

Olly 7.0+7.0 = 14.0

I think Olly will be KO'd tonight. I think Danyl (unfortunately) is safe. But I'm worried that Stacey is going to get knocked out tonight.

I can just see Stacey leaving. How sad. How boring will the final be without her? She was the only one last night who didn't bang on and on about 'I need this, this is my dream, if I go home tonight my dream is over' blah blah blah. They were really trying for sympathy votes last night.

Why do i get the feeling Stacey will be the one going tonight although her 2nd performance was AMAZIN :(. Joe was flawless again. I really Danyl out. He's not that good and i want to see Simons smugness get rubbed off if it happens :D :(

I forgot to do my rankings :o

Stacey [2]

Joe [1]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BIG GAP

Danyl [1] :(

Olly [1]

Joe [2]

Stacey [1] :(

Danyl [2]

Olly [2]

Unfortunatley I do fear for Stacey tonight :( Joe's second performance was dull imo. What I dont get is howcome noone calls Joe a one trick pony when he does the exact same thing every week but everyone jumps on Stacey's back for it?!

I SO want Stacey to win now but I have a horrible feeling the title is going to Gareth Gates 2.0 to sell an album next year before getting dropped ala Leon.

I do fear for Stacey tonight, its going to be between Stacey and Danyl, but somehow I don't see Danyl performing the Climb if he actually won the final, the song is so out of his range.

I be shocked if Joe leaves, the public might think he is safe and they don't vote for him.

THIS

I mean Joe's actually my 2nd favourite but I still think he's pretty boring overrall and wouldn't have a very long lasting career. In fact, I don't think any of them would but Stacey could probably do really well in albums and have some good UK success.

Danyl might have been saved by Simon's massive 'he works hard, performs well, against all odds' speech he decided to give after Danyl had performed the last song of the semis (coincidence?)

No. I think he has been saved by the most unintentional comedic moment of the entire series (yes, nearly as funny as JedWard's speaking bit in the bridge of "Oops, I Did It Again")

Danyl's performance of Man in the Mirror last night was up there with the best performances on the series so far imo. He started off pretty badly, but he nailed the rest of the song. Really can't see him going and i'd be a bit cheesed off if he did as he doesn't deserve to. I thought Joe and Stacey were certs for the final, but that first performance of Stacey's was so weak vocally and I hated the arrangement of the song. Luckily she did well on the 2nd song but still... I really feel for her and Olly tonight. I hope Olly goes but I think any of Danyl, Olly and Stacey could go.

I honestly don't know how I liked Danyl in the auditions and bootcamp etc, but in the live finals he has been awful, I really hate the tone of his voice, all the shouty parts and the fact that he has a ego the size of Simon Cowells already, also why does Simon think he is amazing? Is he serious?

Joe MUST win!

My rankings:

Stacey [2]

------------

Danyl [1] But I obviously far preferred Diana's version last year.

------------

Joe [2]

Olly [2]

Stacey [1]

Olly [1]

------------

Joe [1]

Danyl [2]

Olly's a goner though I think :( Danyl's second performance was awful I found it to be really monotonous and boring. But his first performance was brilliant. Stacey stole the show, as expected! Perfect song choice!

I was shocked just then when I realised the one in the big black dress was Cheryl. I thought it looked like a Dannii outfit from a distance. :o

The group performance was actually good for once, I suppose it's bound to when we get further in.
